Comments Thread For: Andy Lee Targets Marco Antonio Rubio WBC Clash

Irish middleweight star Andy Lee, (30W-2L, 21KOs) is available and ready to fight Mexican warrior Marco Antonio Rubio (58W-6L-1D, 50KOs) for the WBC interim middleweight title if ordered by the World Boxing Council whilst Sergio Martinez, WBC middleweight champion recoveries from injury.

The winner could then fight Sergio Martinez for the WBC green middleweight championship title belt when he makes a full recovery.

Team Lee believe the conquest makes good boxing sense with Lee ranked WBC # 7 and WBA # 8 and Rubio ranked WBC #1 and WBO # 3.

I dunno about Lee, after the Chavez fight he dropped off the face of the earth...hopefully the fight will get made and he gets a strong comeback.

This isn't going to be an interim belt, it'll be for the full while Sergio is made emeritus.
Waiting for WBC to position Canelo for the title

Anybody know why Lee/Spada wasn't rescheduled for this Saturday like all the other fights from that card ?
