Exaggeration much? He looked the same as Clottey, Margo, Cotto and the other lumps that Pacquiao made look silly with his speed and power. They might have looked slow compared to him (Cotto, Clottey, Margarito etc) but they didn't look dead like Oscar clearly was and they weren't moving down to a division they hadn't been at in a decade like Oscar was either. They all look slow and got outclassed therefore that means they all must have been healthy? Despite the fact that Oscar hadn't been at 147 in a decade and looked like a cancer patient.
Like I said, these are just excuses brought when a top fighter who is expected to win or at least be competitive is completely outclassed. No one can quite believe it, so there has to be some other excuse and boxers and trainers are full of them.
Of course it matters, an opponent taking it easy is obviously going to allow the other guy to up his work-rate. When you're not getting hit you impose your own game more. Anyhow, you saying Canelo had his most energetic round doesn't mean jack-ish tbh, it's just an opinion and people see rounds differently. It doesn't matter if Floyd was coasting or not he still had his most energetic round late in the fight and was energetic all the way though and throwing combinations as much as Mayweather would allow him when he trapped him on the ropes. That's not the traits of a drained fighter which is to be expected when they're moving down a total of 1.5 lbs.
As an aside, one could say Canelo's punches didn't have the same pop on them as they did v Trout and Lopez therefore he was drained! but it's all nonsense. Excuses.
And people who are actually able to debate do so without trying to insult others personally.Common sense seems to elude you.
People that come with weight drained stuff don't have agendas, they have functioning eyes.
It's not difficult
You have a number of opinions on certain fights which for whatever reason you're mistaking as incontrovertible fact and getting hyped up about it.
The excuses come about weight post-fight as regular as the boasts about feeling strong come pre-fight.
Well this is a fact - all the talk about weight and he fared worse in his last fight at 175 than at 168 (against an inferior fighter). The fact Dawson got caught cold by a big puncher in his next fight some how equals to him not being dead at 168?
Anyhow, it's late/early, no doubt we'll pick this up another time.Last edited by Weebler I; 09-29-2013, 01:02 AM.Comment

It's genuinely amazing to me that you're blind to something so abundantly clear.
It's nothing but coincidence that when two fighters who hadn't been at a weight in such a long period of time not only look terrible but perform terrible. Ok..
A drained fighter can't up his workrate that's the differenceOf course it matters, an opponent taking it easy is obviously going to allow the other guy to up his work-rate. A drained fighter can't throw combinations like Canelo did later in the fight.
Much like Dawson and Oscar couldn't because...drum roll...
I'm not trying to insult you it's just hilarious to me that something that's so obvious and clear can be outright denied and the general lack of common sense is amusing.
What's a fact? That getting caught cold and knocked out by a puncher at 175 means he wasn't drained at 168?
I see the term "Fact" also eludes you
Anyway, keep living on your Planet where fighters being drained at a weight they haven't been as low as in an extended amount of years doesn't exist.
I'll stay here on Earth where it does.Comment
