I just wanted to get a consensus on what everybody thinks of this fight. Personally I think its an insult to the sport of boxing and the fans by allowing this to happen without Khan defeating a worthy contender before.

BoxRec seems to have already put it on their fight schedule at the MGM Grand:

I agree Khan doesn't deserve the fight but Floyd is in a tough situation where he must sell PPV and the best way to do it is to fight a fighter with a big following. To me khan is a pre-Madonna and hasn't proven jack in boxing. He always wants a rematch if he's on the wrong side of the decision but he never avenged the prescott loss. He in my humble opinion should be behind Garcia, Alexander, Bradley, pacquaio, broner and any other credible 147 pounder. The shame in Khan is he has great attributes in hand speed, size and a big heart. It's the promoters fault that he is such a fake because instead of someone sitting him down and explaining the business side of boxing and what really needs to happen in his career. They tried to accommodate khan and rightfully so if he's making them money. Explanation on how a decent looking guy if marketed correctly and portrays himself correctly could be on the same level as Alvarez, but being a spoiled brat and trying to get what he wants without earning it has ruined Khan.

I always get a belly laugh when posters that are seemingly hardcore boxing fans get fooled by BoxRec. I mean BoxRec's schedule is so credible that Mayweather-Khan apparently went from being scheduled to being off all in the span of one day.

Guess what, BoxRec has as much of an idea as you or I do. THEY ARE GUESSING. Just like you and me. Has BoxRec ever guessed right? Yes, even a blind squirrel finds a nut every now and again.

BoxRec is the ultimate tool for fighter records. It's ratings system and schedule are meaningless.

Last time that I check BoxRec they had Alexander facing Zab and Floyd and Amir with no opponents. May/Khan is a garbage fight. Only cheerleaders and fan boys would like this match.

Khan couldn't even beat a Garcia and looked like crap against Diaz and Molina

That's the only way this fight get's fast forwarded.

And it makes sense from their point of view to make Alexander-Judah if not Khan as Malignaggi turned it down.

I still highly doubt it and it definitely hasn't been negotiated yet.

Strongly disapprove but the Floyd boys will find a way to justify the farce of a fight.

Floydhype is already reporting that Khan will skip facing Alexander to face Floyd in may.

Floyd Sr had said in some recent interview that Khan should skip Alexander and go directly to a Floyd fight. I was hoping that he was talking out of his azz as usual but it looks like there have been some talks already.

It is fine that boxing is a business and they are looking for the next profitable challenger but there is no way that I'll will be paying for this crap to support his massive pay checks. He has to fight challenges. If he was an Arum fighter he will had sold it as May's biggest challenge and the most dangerous fighter out there

In a recent yahoo article regarding Pacquiao, they reported that Pac’s contract with arum ends on Jan 1st of 2014. Why not wait to see if he sparks Rios then try to make that fight happen. This would be the only justifiable opponent for Floyd in May.

That fight was being talked about a few days ago I think.
