sigh .... chris byrd made Vitali quit ... and Byrd isn't fit to carry Joe Louis's jock strap.

    Back to the actual topic.

Well there doesn't seem to be too may serious threats coming up

Povetkin is alright ... alright being the operative word ... barring a major shock he shouldn't trouble wlad

Pulev ... nope not convinced again he's an okay fighter but he's no world beater

Wilder ... untested ... dodgy chin ... does have good speed and power but is still too rough.

Haye ... barely fights these days ... if he picks it up and gets a rematch against an older wlad in 2 or 3 years (if wlad is still fighting) then Haye has a SMALL chance

Fury ... too unskilled ... he's big and that's about it ... probably a bit better than wach but without the freak chin

Chisora ... he's got heart but he's just not good enough and doesn't have a big enough punch to bother wlad

helenius ... he's complete arse ... got beaten by Chisora

and after that ... well who else is there really? If there was a young tyson on the way up ripping the division apart then we'd have something ... but we don't.

But all that aside you gotta take into account that Louis was the UNDISPUTED LINEAL champ for all that time ... I don't see how wlad can match that but defenses of a particular version of the title ... well maybe

I doubt many boxing experts are thinking about Sven Ottke's record at supermiddleweight.

        Of course he will.

This is the worst era in heavyweight history.

So Louis' strategy is going to be to hope that Vitali suffers a rotator cuff injury?

          A bit wishful thinking.

Either Klitschkos would outbox and KO Joe Louis. They are are taller, stronger and much more skilled than 30's and 40's heavyweight boxers. Joe would "eat" jabs.

If the Sh.itschko sisters fought in Louis' era, they wouldn't have the benefit of the steroids, testosterone, HGH and whatever other PED they're on. Plus, they'd have to fight 15 rounds.

Louis mops with floor with both of the Sh.itschko sisters on the same night...

LOL man! 30's and 40's boxers are nowhere near as present day boxers. Klitschko will outjab Joe Louis and KO him. Let's be realistic. Even Tyson said that every next generations' boxers are only get better and better... Better conditions, better training, better pharma! LOL

The only thing better about today's boxers are the PEDS...

Yes, Wladimir is an ATG and one of the most dominant if not the most dominant Heavyweights in history. I dont care what era he's in, he competes and dominates any.
