Indirectly yes.
Will Wladimir Klitschko break Joe Louis' records?

Wlad's accomplishments? Like what? Beating a guy who complained about his toe being hurt? Vitali couldn't beat a shell Lennox Lewis let alone someone who held the actual universal title for almost 12 years.Comment

Do you think either Klitschko wouldn't have held the title fighting the same guys that Louis did?Comment

It's going to be tough. I think the longevity record could be easier to come by. Needs 12 IBF defenses to have 26 but most who rate him THE champ start the new lineage at Chagaev. He needs 19 to surpass Louis in that regard. I don't even think that's impossible. If he had a couple 3-fight years, he could close the gap. That said, he's already 37 and has had a LOT of fights. Even if he doesn't lose, will the motivation really be there to go until he is 42/43?
The one record of Louis's I think won't ever be toppled is most heavyweight title defenses in a year. I don't think we'll ever see a Heavy champ fight seven times in a year again, much less eight. Just think if there hadn't been WWII...Louis might have posted 40 defenses. Mind boggling really.Comment
