Comments Thread For: Brandon Rios Discusses Hiring, Working With Alex Ariza

As recently reported, former lightweight titlist Brandon Rios has acquired the services of strength and conditioning coach Alex Ariza heading into his Nov. 23 clash in Macau, China with Manny Pacquiao.

As outspoken of a figure as you will find in the sport, Rios was actually in a subdued mood on Thursday afternoon prior to another workout as he discussed what it’s been like working with Ariza thus far.

“It’s something different,” Rios revealed. “Different exercises I’ve been doing. It’s tiring. I do get tired. I felt that I’m more tired this time. But, hey, I love to work out and I think it’s going to come out good. That workout is just insane. After that, and coming to the gym; we’ll be ready.”

I wonder if one camp is enough for the effects of a new S&C coach to fully emerge.

This is mind games right here. They are picking up some inside info from someone who has been in that camp for years

He sure as hell better be considering he's in for the best fight of his life. But that still does not give him the skills and talent to beat Pac. Rio's is done.

Brandon today: "He was fired for some reason and we hired his azz".

Brandon the morning after losing: "He's no longer with our camp".

Ariza after the loss: "Garcia wouldn't let me operate, never mind he's actually fought as a champion and had a belt...I know more...".
