I'm as big a GGG fan as you'll find out there, but this is waayyyyyyy over the top. He needs to fight some real challenges. I believe he is the best mw in the world but he needs to prove it.

And even then the talk of ATG status would be silly.
But now? Way too early.

Emille Griffith was an ATG and a true welterweight and middleweight champion witha very very deep resume, Jose Napoles (Cuban) was another ATG, Nino Benvenuti was the lineal middleweight champion when Monzon stopped him, Rodrigo Valdez (colombian) was a middleweight champion and one of the 50 hardest punchers of all time, Bennie Briscoe was a tough contender with a legendary chin and extremely deep resume, who many years later (though very old) went the distance with Hagler and gave him a pretty decent fight; Tom Bogs, Bouttier, Moyer, LiCata, etc. were solid top contenders.Last edited by BafanaBafana; 09-26-2013, 01:54 PM.

I guarantee, that Gennady "GGG" Golovkin will go down as one of the top 10 or even top 5 fighters of all time.
He has that kind of potential. He is unreal.
He is the best fighter since Joe Calzaghe.

Y'all need to learn to stop this ish when will yall learn? I warned yall about hyping up Matthysse but yall didn't wanna listen and just kept kissing his booty. Now y'all hyping up another puncher who has beaten nobody, don't get me wrong he might turn out to be a top p4p star soon when he gets some names on his resume but for now yall need to tone it down.Last edited by KeepItObjective; 09-26-2013, 05:28 PM.

Proksa had more skill than these black and white guys and will become known as a better fighter over time. Athletes today are stronger, better, faster, better, and just gooder.

GGG has great power and good skills, I like the guy but the only worthy middleweight he has on his resume Mathew Macklin...and he's 30. He needs to step up his opposition ASAP but no, he is fighting Curtis Stevenson...a guy who is as useful in a boxing ring as a **** on a gay man.
Let's say he even manages big fights in the next 2-3 years, against Martinez, maybe Barker/Quillin, unifies titles etc....other than Martinez, no name on that list is HOF or even close. What will he do then? Go up to 168? At almost 35 years of age? Not everyone is a Hopkins or Floyd Mayweather, especially with GGG's style. There is no way he even reaches a top 100 unless he KOs Martinez, Barker, Quillin, Ward, Froch, Kovalev, Hopkins and Wlad in back to back fights.
Let us all stop dreaming, take a deep breath and recognise GGG for what he is, a good fighter with great power being marketed as a world beater by HBO who will be out boxed and beaten by either of Martinez or Ward by the end of 2014/15.
