  • Gennady Golovkin will go down as one of the top 10 greatest of all time.

Gennady Golovkin has already proven to be the most devastating puncher in boxing. He has the cardio, speed, unreal power, and an iron jaw. We haven't seen a guy with this kind of power since "Iron" Mike Tyson.

I guarantee, that Gennady "GGG" Golovkin will go down as one of the top 10 or even top 5 fighters of all time.

He has that kind of potential. He is unreal.

He is the best fighter since Joe Calzaghe.

People won't recognize him until he fights a name.
He can't fight a name until one steps up

If he gets some names on his resume maybe he can be considered amongst the top p4p guys today let alone of all time.

Dude. I respect his potential. I'm a big fan. I hope he proves himself. But right now GGG is no where near an ATG. Let's see him blow by Stevens, take out Martinez and Quillin and Sturm. Then he will be known as the best middleweight of today. He has to destroy the middleweight world and blow through the 154 or 168 field to even be considered among the ATGs. If he takes out everyone from 154 to 168 THEN and only then can ATG and GGG be put in the same sentence.

He has tremendous potential and I think he can go far. But until he fights the best and beats the best its still nothing but potential.

If and when the network bull**** ends, he, along with many others, will able to provide their potential. Once there's enough money, fighters should be secure in fighting whoever they please.

Totally agree. Not sure he'll ever be able to surpass Joe The Great though. I think his dominating one punch KO of Matthew Macklin has truly proven that he has genuine ATG potential. That win was like a body punch version of Tommy Hearns knocking the **** out of the iron chinned ATG Duran. Brutal, epic stuff. I can't wait to see what he does against Curtis Stevens. This is just the start of what is clearly an ATGs reign.

Way to give everyone who hates him a thread to hate him in and whine about overhyping.

There's literally no chance this happens, even if Golovkin had the ability.

Carlos Monzon fought a bunch of stiffs, that didn't get recognised as top opposition, until well after his reign ended.

At the time, no one had heard of Jose Napoles, Bennie Briscoe, Rodrigo Valdez, Niņo Benvenuti, Emille Griffith, Tony Mundine, Denny Moyer, Tom Bogs etc. these dudes were the Curtis Stevens, Matthew Macklins and Gabe Rosados, though with boxing having evolved ten times over since the old black and white days, someone like Gabe Rosado would dominate that era and is ten times the boxer and athlete any of those guys were.
