What could he be doing so shady? Threatening to send a terrrorist to blow the network up?
When everyone competing against him is shady, in the shadiest sport on the planet, yes I assume he's shady.

It's more absurd to suggest the most successful manager in the sport is the only one who isn't shady, which is basically what you're saying.

That's the way he wants it, I remember reading he told Sakio Bika to take a picture of them together down.

The guy has a lot of power in boxing, that much is obvious, he must be one tough negotiator.

He's at least shady in the literal sense of the word, the guy is at pains to operate in the shadows (or shade).

During the buildup to the Mayweather/Alvarez fight, those two clowns who host ESPN's PTI were commenting on the fight and questioning whether or not Floyd Mayweather deserved the $41.5 million guarantee that he received. In their minds, Mayweather didn't deserve that much money, but the promoter and the network that hosted the PPV did. The fight made $200 million and they felt that Mayweather only deserved $5 or $10 million (less than five percent of the revenue). If Mayweather was still working for Bob Arum, that is about all he would have gotten while Arum would have walked away with over $100 million.

This is traditionally the way things are done in boxing and this is why all boxers need someone like Al Haymon, who has the influence, skill and ability to get them what they deserve. Unfortunately, there are too many shady managers, advisors and promoters out there (including people like Dana White in MMA) that are making big bucks and giving fighters the equivalent of a hot poker up the a.ss everytime they fight. Thank goodness some of those fighthers have Haymon on their team and they are getting what they deserve.

He signs with Haymon and boom right out the gate he gets his biggest payday and a shot at the undisputed champion, on the highest grossing PPV of all time.

You know what's shady is how can Manny be a PPV star for 6 years or so and still broke as a joke. So what Haymon doesn't do interviews. He does his job well but when you black and rich I guess thats not enough.

Yes, how dare he mention anything about race! We all know that race is overblown and is rarely a factor. Blacks just love playing the race card. They're the real racists.

                    Ignorance yet again.

It is ignorant to assume that every manager in boxing is shady. Some are not! Anyway, Haymon is just easily the smartest, most educated, and most experienced manager. None of the managers have even half his credentials. Tell me who else graduated from Harvard? I'm not even sure if half the managers and/or promoters in boxing even have a college degree.

You never thought about that did you? One of the reasons boxing is corrupt and not so professional is because of the lack of education. Anyone off the street can get into it. Anyone can become a manager, just like in music. And you can do so with no prior experience, no credentials, no education. You just have to find a fighter.

You make all sorts of assumptions but can't say what exactly Haymon could be doing that's shady. The best I've heard here is rigging scorecards.

If he was not affiliated with Floyd Mayweather, no one would care who he was or what he was doing.

I think the reason why Bob Arum and those talking heads at HBO have a problem with Haymon is because he does not allow promoters or the networks to take advantage of his fighters. He gets his fighters what they deserve and, in spite of what anyone says, a fighter who gets in the ring and earns a promoter and network millions of dollars deserves to get paid well. If Manny Pacquaio had Al Haymon as his advisor instead of that clown, Michael Konce, Pac would be guaranteed $20 million per fight in his contracts instead of the $5 million he is currently guaranteed with an incentive that he will make $20 milllion if the fight sells well on PPV. If Nonito Donaire had Haymon as his promoter, he would have gotten $3 million to fight Mares instead of $1 million to fight Rigondeaux and the fight would have been on HBO because HBO would not have had a choice but to deal with Haymon.

Al Haymon is hired by fighters to even the playing field for them against ruthless promoters and networks that want to control a fighter's career by dictating who they can and cannot fight and when, and that is exactly what he does. He is the closest thing to a union that boxers have. That is why Bob Arum hates him and won't allow any of his fighters to go near Haymon, that is why HBO severed ties with him, and that is why boxers want him on their team.
                      Co-sign.

Anything Manny or Nonito related - Excellent! Genius!

Anything remotely Mayweather related - shady.
