here is what you need to do Ronnie; pretend to negotiate and then let them set the weight limit to 180, Jr will be so happy and he will not train at all thinking he's set to win easy, when he shows up completely out of shape, your boy just needs to survive 3 rounds max and then u got em. Ofcourse you will be robbedif you don't lo the boy

edwin rodriguez overhauled his style, while maintaining his aggressive tendencies when a guy is hurt. he looks 10X the fighter he used to be. he has a real jab now, and he's patient. he used to just wade in winging punches. he has a great chin, so it worked, but shields gave him a style that would allow him to get to the top by building a telephone pole jab.
i wish shields, vera, and rodriguez the best. if vera and rodriguez sparred you bet your ass it was TV level stuff, rofl. those two are aggressive.
WAR RONNIE

Chavez, Jr. just needs to move to Light Heavyweight if he's concerned about himself making weight and I think he should to train with Robert Garcia or Nacho Beristien if the offer is presented to him. JCC, Jr. could have a lot of lucrative fights at 175 and Beibut Shumenov wins his HBO PPV undercard fight on the Pacman/Rios card, HBO should try to make that fight and hope Julio's wins the WBA belt, as they would have some interesting match-ups with Adonis Stevenson, Sergey Kovalev & Chad Dawson while they could probably get Andre Ward to finally move up in the process.

All the good things Sheieds just said was made pointless by his last comment "Otherwise they're gonna have to bring a big azz check" Well Duh, that's exactly what they intend to do which is why Arum said in the first place the weight hasn't been set. Because it hasn't it if all you car about is the money they can pick and choose whatever weight suits them.
If you really want to take a stand say 168 or no fight no matter how much money you offer.

Who else does Arum have at 168? I know Carl Froch isn't with Arum but I would love to see JR vs Froch. Froch would gim him a very entertaining beating. Ward would give Chavez a beating as well but the Froch fight would be more entertaining. I say put the fight in Mexico so Froch will feel insecure about letting it go the distance. Froch will make some fans as he always does.
Back to the subject, who else does Arum have at 168?

A nerve was struck after Shields read a story on BoxingScene.com, where Chavez's promoter, Top Rank CEO Bob Arum, said the weight for Chavez-Vera has not been determined.
Apparently Arum wants to have both fighters weigh-in on Wednesday - and based on those numbers a decision will be made as to Saturday's fighting weight. [Click Here To Read More]
