I don't know how Arum can weasel his way through contracts and not be in breach. Kind of like with Marquez-Bradley drug testing contract

                Chavez Jr is disrespectful garbage

Screw Chavez Jr. for disrespecting boxing and screw Arum for kissing Chavez's butt. Chavez Jr. makes me vomit.

This is exactly why Arum aint ****, always making excuses for his fighters he needs to retire. Chavez is a joke. And hes still talking about a rematch with Sergio and he cant even make 168, SMH,

A nerve was struck after Shields read a story on BoxingScene.com, where Chavez's promoter, Top Rank CEO Bob Arum, said the weight for Chavez-Vera has not been determined.

Apparently Arum wants to have both fighters weigh-in on Wednesday - and based on those numbers a decision will be made as to Saturday's fighting weight. [Click Here To Read More]
Shields couldn't respectably say anything else other than protect his fighter. What'll likely happen is that Chavez will weigh in at somewhere between 173 and 168 on Wed. and, depending on how much over 168 it is, a weight will be announced. There is probably a clause in the contract for penalties against overweight and Arum will pay them. At the same time, Chavez said on Tues that he was 173 so he might still make the 168 limit...or he mightn't....

It provides a little PR uncertainty for an otherwise pedestrian fight. on another point, if Vera is already at the weight limit, why won't Shields allow him to step on the scales.... sounds like PR manufactured excitement, it's only a tune-up fight over Chavez' long hiatus from the ring.
