It will be determined once Chavesito weighs himself & whatever weight he does on the scale, that's the weight the fight will be at..
Are you so lacking in reading comprehension or is it that your irrational hatred drives you to make these de****able posts against someone who can't reply-because he never reads them. He'd probably garbage them anyway. Does it make you feel a "big man"??

It's clear from the report, and David is a top reporter who would get to the facts, that Chavez announced that he presently weighed 173, and some imaginative reporter made it into a hysterical headline.

As for Arum's statement it's abundantly clear, even to an average mind, that he was unclear about the weight situation, and would know more about it later. I don't think he's a trainer standing with a portable weighing scale in his hands whilst Chavez eats..... it's not a fight where weight dictates it's viability otherwise it would be contracted and we'd all hear about it..

put a fine per pound over the weight limit, watch JCCjr lose the weight then. Heck, go easy mode, make it every 5 pounds over the weight limit pay X fine, don't wanna starve the little fella.

But both fighters agreed at a weight of 168, how fair is it that the weight limit just went north 5 pounds just so TR can say their guy made weight?

The "hysterical headline" came before Chavez JR said he was 173 today (which is probably a lie). Yesterday on ESPN Espanol, Chavez Sr specifically said there would be a new weight at 173. Zanfer, Chavez' Mexican promoter, was also there and didn't say anything about Chavez Sr. being wrong.

The weight limit is whatever Chavez weights the day before the weigh in, clearly.

That isn't how it works. FNF are signed at a determined weight just not typically at the normal weights of their weight class. But they still determine a weight and stick to it.

They don't, especially for a high profile HBO fight, make a contract and keep changing the weight because one guy can't make it. And then the week of the fight change it again. An basically tell Vera he has to accept it or not get paid and make a living cause he's the B side.

So Vera will accept it cause he has to pay his bills but he's absolutely being taken advantage of and this is absolutely unprofessional, immoral and disgraceful to boxing and a big deal should be made about it by fans and media.

It was obvious since long ago that Chavez Jr. wants to fight at light heavyweight.

This is such obvious B.S btw... why would they need to reweigh on Wednesday if he's at 173 right now? He's lost more weight in a less amount of time.

Arum is an idiot. Chavez Jr. Is so lazy. This is unfair to Vera. I would drop out now if I was him. When have they ever discussed a weight days before a fight. This just shows Chavez isn't close to where he should be. Just unprofessional by the fighter and promoter.
