He's good actually. He also leave the bias out of him commentary. Yet again most boxer/commentators are fairly unbiased. Except maybe for Big George Foreman.
Paulie Malignaggi is a superb

You can tell Paulie is a student of the sport. You have to be to be good at being a ring announcer. He genuinely loves the sport (except the business and politics of course).
I like how he broke down how Garcia was catching and shooting and the composure it takes to be willing to do it. Then he broke down how it was forcing Matthysse to not fully commit like he normally does. He's extremely observant and is usually dead on. He's making me forget just how much I loved the HBO crew...Comment

he is absurdly talented as an announcer. it sounds like he's literally doing it for decades.
at first it sounds like a bit much to say that he's a more talented announcer than boxer, given that he's a two weight world champion, but he is.
the guy is going to be calling fights forever. unless his mouth outisde of the ring get him in trouble, he will be on showtime until he gets old.
he's funny, extremely informative, and charming. he's the perfect expert commentator. he provides the perspective of a fighter.
that is not an easy job, the way some might expect, but it's got to be one of hte best jobs on the planet. six figures to watch fights from ringside and travel the country / world? sign me up.
i will sell my truck and account, and quit my job tomorrow.
Roy Jones is also very good, Tarver was decent as well but to me Paulie's gift of gab serves him greatly in this field. I'm glad that the boxing world has found a use for such a talented guy outside of the ring.Comment

Malignaggi and Berstein have great chemistry and I enjoy their combined commentary over any other broadcast team in boxing today. Frequently Malignaggi disagrees with Berstein's analysis but he's respectful and they have a good re-pore.Comment

atlas has a very different job description, though. fnf is for hardcores only. dudes who make it a point to stay in on friday for FNF are a different breed. atlast caters to real fight fans. he breaks down every fight as if it's a championship, and the guys are often complete sh#t.
lampley's job is to tell the story of a world class fight. atlast evaluates prospects, talks about the state of a fighter's career, gives a technical breakdown of what's going on in the ring. he's got tessatore doing blow by blow, but atlas is the head of that broadcast without a doubt. lampley's steering the ship on HBO. he does the promos, he controls the broadcast as it moves along. both are great at what they do.
teddy atlas has his biases, and he's come up short as a trainer at times, but as an analyst he's about as good as you're going to see for the task given to him on friday night fights. his ability to talk boxing at every level is mind blowing.Comment

He will go into the hall of fame as
Two division champ/announcer For sure.
He didnt just box, he beat good fighters and competed with the best.
As an announcer he is great.
He still might be able to win one more belt.
He has my voteComment

Atlas frequently pontificates, over-analyzes the fights to death and talks over the action way too much. He sucks as scoring fights as well and always shows bias towards the more technical fighter even if said fighter is playing defense the whole round.
His predictions are awful as well. He frequently totally gets 'em wrong and there was a stretch a few years back when he picked against Wladimir Klitschko in maybe 5 or 6 fights; it was blatantly biased and unprofessional.
His sidekick Joe Tessitore constantly 'nuthuggs' Atlas to no end during their broadcasts; it's like everything Atlas says, Joe takes as gospel. It's sickening...
Sorry bro, I just had to get that off my chest...nonono:Comment
