As for beforehand, it was going good before then. If he stays after his contract is over, then we have a problem
If this is true (im not doubting you) then he needs to beat Rios in style. Get another solid win at WW or two.

End his contract, cash out and fight Floyd.

And yet Chavez fought him 1 year after barely winning the title vs featherfisted Zbik. He was a massive underdog here on NSB, much wider than with the bookies.

Good point on the Pacquiao-DLH fight, but it was a win-win situation for Manny as most would say he was simply too small if he lost (Manny was a lightweight then), and he'd gain exposure and a good reputation as havin "the balls" to challenge a much bigger fighter. Of course we all know what really happened.

Sergio Martinez is a Dibella fighter, not Goldenboy.

I'm still not sure what started the fued. Joint PPVs bring less profits to the promoters but both fighters gain exposure and big paydays so what's the problem?

Oh and yea I have no doubt Manny Pacquiao would KILL Danny Garcia! Pacquiao loves wide punchers who lack a good straight right.

And Bob gave Sergio a 1.5 million guarantee on a fight that made 30 million, only way to work with Top Rank is if you take nothing.

The problem is we're not sure if Floyd will fight Pacquiao if he (Pac) decided to leave TR. Floyd had been contradicting himself since day one. Why would I believe Floyd now?

Arum started the feud, he's bitter Oscar left, Golden Boy would happily take promoter fees to send their guys for big fights.

Yes Danny is some type of joke.

I agree its Arum that's being bitter, but now that certain fighters are locked in to either Showtime or HBO the feud is now even more impossible to overcome.

I'm still mad I didn't get to see Donaire-Mares before the losses. I KNOW Donaire must be pissed. He could've made his biggest payday ever, but instead Arum makes him fight a guy with a more difficult style that was all wrong for Donaire - Rigonduex.

Good posts all around man. I agree Mares would have been an easier matchup for Donaire, I'm just a little skeptical of the 3m offer while they were paying Mares peanuts. It's just such an outsized offer (with no date and site?), though I thought the same with Povetkin Wlad, and that seems to be happening (I expect sketchiness still).

That's a myth Donaire claimed it didn't have a date but Dan Rafael tweeted at Donaire that it did have a cut off date of June, Donaire kept claiming it had no date even after than. Paulie-Broner had a combined purse of 2.75 million so 3 million does sound like a lot.
