Skilled pressure fighters have given him his toughest fights. Cut off the ring, trap him, work the body, outhustle him. It's always been the most effective way to fight Floyd.

Like most ATGs, though, there is no "style" that's going to beat him. It's never that simple with ATG fighters. You beat him if you are good enough at your style, whatever it is, to impose your fight on him.

Every single fight you have a gif for, every single one, Mayweather beat the hell out of the guy. They did really come close to beating Mayweather at all.

Baseball bat right in the grill.
The Castillo fight is absolutely not irrelevant. Who has Mayweather fought as good as Castillo at that style since those two fights? Cotto maybe, and he gave Mayweather his toughest fight since Castillo.

Just like the other dude said .. World Class trainers have not even figured it out so you can't either .. Btw everybody has the blue print .. When fighters are there in the moment no one does what's planned .. People become mentally subdued fearing of counters and speed. The only way to win is find a fighter who lets it all go pressure pressure pressure.. Maybe duran vs leonard 1

ill still use the castillo blueprint, the simple fact is in all those gifs it was in the first 4 rounds when floyd hasn't loosen up yet and got into his zone.

castillo was on floyd thru 12

I think he is a more complete fighter now, and 11 years is a hell of a long time in boxing. For whatever reason none of his opponents since have been able to replicate that first Castillo performance and cause him those problems. I had Floyd marginally losing that fight. If that was the definitive blueprint he wouldn't have went 11 years without having a few more seriously close fights. Surely every opposing trainer must have studied that fight, but they can't replicate that performance. That's why we only really have Castillo 1 to go off from.

Cotto fight was tough, but its a stretch to argue the result, and he almost had him out of there at the end.

Doesn't discount that performance from Castillo or Cotto.

Floyd scores the eye catching shots, dictates distance beautifully, knows how to win rounds and can take a punch.

No boxer can go on forever though and if he continues to fight into his 40's he will run into the wrong guy. This is absolutely inevitable.

I thought the Castillo rematch went quite similarly to the first fight until the championship rounds. I know people like to say, "what happened in the rematch," about that fight, but Castillo had his success the second time as well, just not as much.

He mentioned that. Did you read?

"Now of course, both Zab and Mosley and Corley went on to lose their fights because of Mayweather's adaptability "

Great post OP. This thread should be shown to these "world class" trainers lol

No one's had the skills since Castillo gave him 2 good fights. Really, look at the fighters Floyd's fought since and see who was as good at that style as Castillo was.

I'm not blaming Mayweather for that, but it's true nonetheless.
