Was Matthysse vs. Garcia a let down?

Did it live up to your expectations?

Yes. It wasn't as good as I thought it was going to be.

Not at all. What we saw on Saturday is exactly why I was so hyped up for that matchup.

I'm only disappointed because Matthysse lost. If he had won it would be FOTY.

    In a way, it was.

Don't get me wrong, it was the most exciting fight on the entire PPV card, but I genuinely feel that Matthysse's eye injury robbed us (the fans) of a potentially legendary slugfest that would've ended in one fighter or the other being KTFO'd.

Fight of the night, but it could've been so much more, IMO.

      I enjoyed it

They both fought their ass off. I'd watch a rematch. Just not immediately. Like to see some other matchups

Hell no. The fight was everything i expected and more. I knew either man would win. But what I did not know was Danny Garcia is a young vet with a very high boxing IQ. He shortened up his shots, countered skillfully and made the explosive Lucas Mattysse do what he wanted.

Yeah. I hyped the s*** out of the fight to my "casual" boxing fans/friends. They weren't to into it. Weren't to happy with the main event either lol ill invite them over for 3G vs Stevens or Alvarado vs ruslan can't go wrong with those

I agree with Bringer, if his eye didn't swell, that could have been an epic slugfest. But it happens, I hope to at some point see a rematch.

              I was hoping for a KO, but it wasn't a let-down.

a little bit. i was expecting something along the lines of hagler-hearns. i was surprised by garcia's boxing ability and defense. and to be totally honest, i really wanted matthysse to massacre him. garcia showed a good chin. definitely an impressive performance.

i thought it was entertaining and close enough to warrant a rematch

No, the fight wasn't a let down. Whether the eye swelled up or not, Danny had solved Matthysse by round 4. Danny didn't thumb Matthysse, he didn't butt him, he punched him. It is only a let down to Matthysse's fans.

no , but the ref was a let down ... tony weeks and bayless(as much as i like him ) dont need to be reffing when one fighter's game is more effective on the inside...they put a fighter on a great disadvantage imo...
