It isn't 2.2 for just Floyd. It isn't 2.2 for just Canelo. It's 2.2 for Floyd, Canelo, story of two undefeated champions, promise of Canelo being a true threat based on Canelo's recent wins, Canelo's young age, Floyd's older age, their records (44-0, 42-0-1), Canelo's following, Mexican independence weekend, Floyd's following, the people that want to see Floyd lose, the typical hype around a major fight, and all of the marketing and build up put into the fight.

A lot goes into making a major fight successful which is why you don't just see them thrown together. It takes negotiation and time. I am a graphic designer working for a marketing agency. Yes it takes time to simply design the marketing materials, photoshoots for posters, motion graphics for video packages, etc. There are a million moving parts.

Anyway, anything about 1.5 is very good. 2.0 is great. 2.2 (for Mayweather vs someone not DLH or Pacquiao who both have track records and proven names longer than Canelo) is astounding.

(Ishe and Molina should never be on PPV again..lol)

Absolutely legit post! Why people on here can't understand this is beyond me.

    Green K worthy indeed

Great number great night for boxing. Maybe if canelo took all his clothes off at the weigh in they may have gotten 2.5 mil.

May- vs Guerrero sold 780k that means that Canelo was responsible for 1.5 Millions buys by himself aswell as most of the gate

Great numbers. When the fight was announced I was thinking around 1.6-1.7, but the week leading up to the fight and seeing all the promotion I started to think it might actually crack 2 mil.

It's funny though how quickly the numbers come in when it's a success compared to months and months of no figures for events that don't do so well.

Please you haters don't get tired of making you own noose. Floyd sold 900k with Guerrero who has no fan base. Lets not forget he's been selling over a million for years and shares the spotlight in what is now the second highest grossing fight ever. The stadium tickets for Canelo/Trout were 10 dollars in Texas. Floyd is the draw the strength of the competition adds intrigue. So lets put money on who sells more in their next fight Canelo or Floyd. I got 500 on Floyd. If you want to go higher let's do a thousand. Don't punk out since you are so MFN sure.

The question now is, who can Floyd fight in may that will bring in similar #s? Showtime isn't gonna go for him fighting someone like Alexander or Khan. Neither fight will bring in even half of what this fight did.

The only fight that can eclipse this is Floyd/pac if pac puts Rios on his azz
