U need 2 stars and 2 attractions to do numbers like that - the fact that 2million buys has only been reached twice and mayweather was involved both times should tell u he had something to do with the numbers. Also canelo 40k gate only did a million on the gate and some of the tickets was only 10dollars.

I agree on all except the idea that you need two stars. Mayweather is the draw you just need a likable guy that poses a real threat opposite of him. People are hoping to see what they believe is Mayweathers Karma. And Mayweather fans love to see the haters Karma after the fight. No one else is doing these numbers no matter how compelling the match up. Every Floyd fight does better than every other boxers financially.

Great for the sport! The casuals will cry (see pac fans) however, real boxing purists appreciated the great night of boxing that we got.

Great for Alvarez, hopefully this will boost his numbers where one day soon he will reach at least 750K to 1 million in the near future.

In the meantime, the idea that Floyd was going to lose is why it sold. Nobody today without Floyd, will sell 2.2 million PPV's. Especially at $65 and $75 a pop.
