    Froch-Groves sold out!

The press conference is on at the moment on Sky Sports, and it has just been announced that it will be on Sky Box Office (PPV) and the 20.000 Phones4U arena in Manchester has been sold out in 11 minutes.

This was faster than Haye-Fury, Froch-Kessler, Haye-Klitschko, Haye-Harrison and all the other big fights that's been on in Britain or involving British fighters over the last couple of years.

Guess that squashes the notion that there was no interest in this fight.

Did you get tickets? Website went into meltdown a bit but I got two tickets fine, should be a stacked card. Quigg and Crolla all but confirmed, full undercard will be announced a week after Haye/Fury.

Why is anyone in the UK surprised? Groves is a BIG draw. Don't forget his fight with DeGale was a PPV box office event on Sky at the O2 and was sold out, 20K people were there.

Froch vs Groves was always going to sell out in minutes, its a brilliant fight, and will be very competitive.

This ridiculous notion that unless both fighters are world-wide household names, needs to be extinguished as soon as possible. Who cares if America doesn't know much about Groves - WE, the British public, DO. It's an all British fight and frankly the only country that matters in this, is ours.

Incidentally, i pick Froch, late stoppage. Groves hasn't swam in the deep water yet, and that's where Froch is taking him.

This will be an awesome fight, bolstered by the most loyal and passionate fans on the entire PLANET.

          This one's for us.

I always found it funny when people act like this isn't a big fight.

Groves is a young, talented, up and comer with a decent resume and a point to prove. Froch is a top ten pound for pound champ and has never been in a bad fight.

The magic ingredient being that they are both British. Massive fight for the British public.

Froch about the sellout: "It's not about me and Groves - it's all about me really. It just shows what a big name I am"

I like Froch, but if he fought Bika in Manchester, there would still be tickets available in the box office on the day of the fight. Groves is a big factor in the interest of this fight.

I'm not sure about that - but I agree with the point.

It's an all british fight and that sells.

Not to sound sceptical or anything but i am sure promoters lie about this kind of thing. Pretty sure they greedily sell chunks of tickets of to secondary sellers.

Fights like Haye-Fury though would genuinely sell out in an hour.
