I am in no way shape or form a Garcia or Lucas fan, and I picked Lucas to KO Danny.

Matthyse absolutely does deserve a re-match, but the narratives have been written and people would rather see inferior fights for some reason. We got a bunch of non-paid business advisers on this site.

Anyways, I find it funny people think the champion has to give the challenger a rematch, even though the decision isn't even remotely in question.

What I find funnier is people forget this was a title DEFENSE. The Matty stans are all talking about close or even rounds. IMO they go to the champ, you gotta EARN the title!

Exactly. Lucas may have been the favorite going in, but he was the CHALLENGER. Danny had the titles, it was another title defense. If the decision was in question, I'd say he needs to give Lucas a rematch. Close fight......yes. Questionable decision.....not at all. Danny won a competitive fight, but clearly won it.

This is how I score non title fights. If it's a title fight, and I feel it's an even round, I take into consideration who's defending the title.

You think any of those guys would have taken those rematches if the possibility of a career payday against a guy like Floyd existed? Plus all those rematches you mentioned had huge interest. Outside of hardcore boxing fans I don't see the casual fan demanding a rematch to this fight. It was a tough fight for both, but it wasn't an all time classic or anything. EVERYONE was demanding that Gatti/Ward do it again, this fight not so much. Don't misinterpret what I said. I am not saying there shouldn't be a rematch. I am just saying that it would be ****** of Garcia to sign up so quickly.

Lucas is a competitor so I know he wants it right away and maybe his team is promising it to him, but for the first time in his career Danny Garcia will have negotiating leverage over everyone he could fight outside of Floyd. The ****** thing would be for him to sign a contract for a rematch 2 days after the last fight. That's what I was saying.
