Would it be at 40/47 ? Danny did say he was going up.... Im slow tonight and that thought only just occurred... Guess im obsessed with the legitimacy of what i've read. I'd love for it to happen again, bigger payday surely/maybe, makes $$$ sense, and massive kudos to each man.

Though i guess a Mayeather fight is waaay bigger payday for Danny.

Yea, I know what you mean. When Israel Vasquez fought Rafa Marquez the second time, he got messed up even worse. What was he thinking taking an immediate rematch.

If true I have no idea who to pick. Matthysse came off as the better fighter who suffered from an idiotic corner. No enswell...fn really? And Garcia came off asthe veteran who capitalized on what was given by the oposing corner, ref, and most importantly listened to his corner!!! Angel really woke him up i think Angel isnt getting enough credit for this. He brought Danny back as Danny seemed to be a bit discouraged. You could see Danny's expression change from concern to focus , I loved it.

50/50 fight. Matthysse has the power still and showed he could hurt him and Danny is growing and working on his speed (both were faster than I remember). Both had great plans til the eye happened as Lucas was slipping and ducking most the left hooks and Danny was keeping him honest enough to slow down the straight right.

There was a ton of heart and skill shown in this fight! Lucas was baitig the left hook beautifully prior to the eye with feints, he'd make Danny throw the left hook with his feints and duck under. Danny was also purposely obliging him to keep the distance even if it missed. And their chins, jesus. They must have been in tremendous shape, especially with some of the body shots Danny took. I came away bein an even bigger fan of each they showed their class and skill with that power they have. How the f uck does one trade left hooks with either!? These guys are beasts

but he was winning until his eye closed. it's hard to do a lot when you can't see punches coming or your opponent clearly. garcia only hit him with a couple decent shots through 6. matthysse had the much better defense up until his eye closed. maybe he should develop a new face or start sparring with an eyepatch.

His eye closed because danny closed it with the repeated counter left hooks...

if they have a rematch it will be the same thing.....

lucas needs to go back to the drawing board and work on adding to his skill set the way maidana did after the alexander fight....

lucas is just too one-dimensional to compete at the elite level and have alot of success,,, he is on the verge of being elite, but danny is just the better well-rounded fighter and it showed saturday night

I still dont believe this until we get some more sources but then again before matthysse/garcia was announced his team said on facebook that the fight would be on the may/canelo undercard and nobody believed and it turned out to be true, so who knows.

You Matthysse fans are so desperate. Stop with the whole "Lucas was winning until the eye closed up" This is just making you guys look bad. You do realize this is a championship fight scheduled for12 rounds. Danny was very poised, relaxed, and saw Lucas coming. Even the commentators were talking about how relaxed and focus Danny looked. BTW it was Danny who closed the eye. Wow, you guys are really reaching

The clinching is also making you look bad. Lucas lunged in every time he threw a shot (footwork was terrible). Also, there were times when Lucas has Danny on the ropes and he still couldn't do anything with him.

The knockdown was legit. Danny hit Lucas with a body shot that really hurt him right before the KD. You guys have such a hard on for Lucas you can't even be objective.

Danny fought a great fight and you guys need to give him props. Ok, if you don't like his dad or the fact that he KO'd Khan, you can't take away what he was able to do last night which is make Lucas look like a crude fighter who is in love with his power and somewhat 1 dimensional.

There is no need for a rematch. Danny keeps winning and every time Lucas stepped up he lost. Deal with it. I give props to both fighters for fighting each other and giving the fans something to talk about on Monday.

I just found it funny that all these guys here were saying some really messed up things about how Angel was gonna pick Danny's body off the canvas and saying RIP Danny are either quiet or just to mimize Danny's win. I mean some of that stuff was a really inappropriate thing to say because it could actually happen and I would never wish that on anyone. But I understand how keyboard thugs are.

I must say it's really funny to come here and see people making every excuse that they can find to defend Lucas. Just say Danny is a great champion and move on. I mean Danny said that about Lucas right?

i'm not convinced it's real but i do hope it happens. it's not like matthysse got outclassed, he was getting his hits in too. this could a be potential trilogy.
