Once and for all, can we just agree that they're both on similar levels of greatness? Why does one have to be better than the other? They could both beat each other on any given night.

Did Pernell sniff coke last night? Did Floyd lose a million on a sports bet? It comes down to mental aspects with the 2. Who is feeling it that night?

Saw both fighters careers live. Pea only probably has a better jab than Mayweather, that's about it. Mayweather more athletic, faster hands, better movement, more disciplined which should count for something.

I'm convinced now, Mayweather is better.

I think Floyd gets through Pernell's resume undefeated (The Chavez fight would be competitive) but I'm not so sure Pernell gets through Floyd's resume undefeated. In fact I highly doubt it.

No. Pernell is a top 15 ATG. Floyd couldnt hold his jock strap.
But floyd did make more money though.

Pernell is a whole other type of talent and skill.
Him and floyd have zero in common but natural reflex.

Try watching more than one boxing match and you might learn something. I'm glad you took an interest in the sport after noticing Justin Bieber and Lil Wayne were fans though.

@ The welterweight limit Mayweather beats Chavez. Chavez had no business fighting at that weight. 135-140 is Chavez best weight , and would be a toss up matchup.

Pernell fought Oscar when he was in his prime, meanwhile Mayweather won via SD. Floyd would have lost to Oscar if he fought him at the same time as Whitaker fought him, so no.

Mayweather also should've lost to Castillo.

Mayweather better skilled all around and defensively is better IMO. Pea was badly hurt by uncle Roger and tasted the canvas quite a few times.

Mayweather is the smarter fighter inside and outside the ring, beats him in longevity as well.Say what you want about Mayweather but the man is one of the most disciplined athletes of all time.

Time do give the man his due, he's right up there with the greatest of all time.
It's very close between the two. Anybody who says it's not close is either ignorant or biased. As far as longevity, Mayweather is far ahead of Whitaker and that can't be argued.
