    TRUE!

It was not a Headbutt or a thumb to the eye it was punches that closed!

Danny went out there and proved himself. There's nothing else to say. He's the 140 king pin. When you get punched in the face, stuff tends to swell up. I don't see how it's lucky. Lucas is still a very good fighter. Theres no shame in admitting he lost fair and square.

the eye swelled up from clean punches, and the corner did a very poor job on it. those are the facts. it's not an excuse, bushbaby. that's what happened. swelling will go down if you use an enswell. they've been in use for decades. maybe even longer. they work.

i could have done a better job on that eye with my eyes shut.
I have seen a lot of posters using it as an excuse, this site....smh.

Now this is what (should) have transpired, 2 points even.

But yeah, malignaggi wasn't watching them treat the swelling the first round or two, only watched later, and made his comments.

i did have a limited perspective, admittedly. i wans't watching it on TV, my man. i am in las vegas. sitting on the 23rd floor of the mgm now and taking in the view before i have to leave. i was at the fight last night.

some trainers "move" the swelling away from the eye with their hands, but enswell have been used for a long time. the cold really helps to reduce swelling. most cutmen i've seen use steady pressure with the enswell to start, and then they'll "move" the swelling away from the eye.

it's not like it would have mattered anyway, but the eye didn't look to be worked on as well as it could have been on the jumbotron.

No one is using it as an excuse, but to say it didn't change the fight is idiotic, and to say it happens often is idiotic.

                were they idiots, though?

maybe i'm just wading through the BS without seeing it. it doesn't appear that many people are saying that poor cornerwork is the only reason matthysse lost. danny garcia is a very good fighter with a big punch and a great chin.

                    Nice man, I'm jelly.

Yeah, either way they could have done a better job, but IMO it doesn't/didn't matter. The swelling occurred, and IMO they kept it in check.

I just distinctly remember when the swelling first started, he went back to his corner and I was expecting for them to work on his eye, but they f'd around for a good 10-15 seconds before they busted out the enswell and worked on it. I thought it was a poor job, but they had one lol.
