Quit Acting Like Garcia Schooled Lucas

I'm keeping my mouth mostly shut because of all the **** I talked, but this is very true. It's not an "excuse" that Lucas' eye closing changed the fight. It's a factual observation. Danny closed it and won the fight, and I'm not denying him his respect. But the first half of the fight Lucas looked really good and was winning or at least even IMO. He had two good rounds before the eye closed. Even with it the fight was close.

Garcia toughed out a good fight, he didn't dominate or school anyone. That's more than most of us though, and he deserves all the credit in the world for a hard-earned win no one expected, but people are going crazy here.

While this is all true, what bothers me is the butthurt people who thought he was going to get killed, bringing this up every time they have to give him his props now. How many other times have you heard, "yea he won but he only won cause boxer x broke his hand in the x round" or "he only won cause boxer x got cut over his eye" I wouldn't mind if it was from a headbutt but it was a legal hit and Danny should get credit for it instead of having it brought up like it was some unintentional freak accident.

A win is a win is a win.

it was a very close fight, and even though i gave the 7th(rd lucas's eye starts to swell) to garcia, it was a really close round that one could also give to matthysse, having landed some great counter left hooks, a counter right, some body shots and other shots as garcia was covered up

doing so makes it a draw on my card
a rematch is in order imo

When you look at the Alexander and Judah fights with Matthysse, you have to admit Garcia looked pretty impressive.

Danny schooled him, the first 2-3 rounds were tense and shaky for Danny. After that he blocked a lot of the punches and fired up nasty combinations. Are we pretending you didn't predict a nasty KO by Lucas OP? And that people thought Danny was going on a stretcher after the fight (lmao).

Look at Garcia's face after the fight, he literally took more damage against Judah. His eyes closing up is from Danny's precise and powerful punches, no different to Pacquiao against Marg.


First it was Danny was scared, then the fight was signed and now its his fans that were scared.

I'm not even a big fan of Danny too, but his hate is undeserved. The guy has done nothing but fight fighters people say that were going to KO and beat him. But instead they jump on the first bandwagon of a guy who has been knocking out people.

To the guy who said he won a fight no one expected, yeah if you're living in a bandwagon fantasy world on NSB you're right. But A LOT of people were picking Garcia and not letting their panties get wet every time they hear the name "Matthyse".

You could score the first 6 rounds 3-3 but just the overall impression was that Garcia was in control and he was dictating how the fight went whereas Matthysse wasn't able to get off like he wanted to.

To me, Danny making it his fight and was way ahead in terms of Ring Generalship before the eye closed anyway.

it wasn't a one sided fight, Lucas fought well enough
he certainly coulda done more, but give credit to Garcia
he took what shots he had to, dropped him, won fair and square
coulda done without the Golota tactics, but he was the better man
Lucas deserves a rematch, but Garcia don't have to give him one
it can wait if Garcia wants to pursue something else, he won clearly

I think Danny did far worse than just school Matthysse. You can argue he put a huge dent in the ability of Matts to get another big fight. Matts has scary power and brings nothing to the table so I agree with Paulie its gonna be hard for him to get big fights.

No offense to Matts fans, but he looked like he didn't belong at this level. Danny controlled this fight from the beginning. Frankly, after the 3rd round it seemed Lucas had no other way to win but his power. Thats not gonna cut it at the elite level.

Maybe if Maidana loses they can go to Argentina for a huge event.

Holy **** I clicked on the thread and it's lovsi or whatever. This guys been but hurt ever sense the Lucas lost. Let me tell you something you don't lose your steam from a swollen eye, you lose your steam from getting hit with vicious counter punches to the body.
