Why? Because you are biased as *** and can't come to reality that the guy you thought would win so one sided, looked like he was an amateur out there. He wasn't active, his punches other than the one huge shot that knocked out his mouth piece looked weak. Last night Garcia looked like the puncher. Get over it, punk.Comment

An instant before the announcer mentioned "the mouse under Matthysse's eye," I noticed it. Then the thing literally swelled shut right before my eyes. It must've taken about fifteen seconds.Comment

matthysse was always recognized as a limited fighter by people who know boxing. you won't find anytbody but a fanboy saying otherwise. what most thought, myself included, was that his physical attributes, mainly his chin and power, would allow him to beat garcia.
golovkin is a different animal. don't expect him to be up on his toes like floyd mayweather, but golovkin is a terrific boxer. he won the world championships as an amateur in a non olympic year (the biggest amateur tourney in the world in '07.) he won silver in the olympics.
he's extremely well balanced at all times, which is what allows him to pressure and move forward while still having the ability to set his feet and punch. he has an amazing jab, one of the best in the sport. he throws every punch technically, whereas matthysse will literally toss himself to the ground if you make him miss badly enough.
the only real comparable aspects of the two fighters are the power, aggression, and the chin. otherwise you're talking about a technician and a brawler like they're the same guy.Comment

You're absolutely right about Golovkin being a better fighter but he is untested. From what I've seen so far his biggest flaw is his defense. He gets hit an awful lot. Who is say when his chin is tested by a big puncher he'll react favorably. I compare him to to Matthysse because most people sees the punching power in both of these boxers, but fail to see their flaws. Until Golovkin is tested by a big puncher with decent skills, I will still consider him hype. I can change my mind though. I did for Garcia.matthysse was always recognized as a limited fighter by people who know boxing. you won't find anytbody but a fanboy saying otherwise. what most thought, myself included, was that his physical attributes, mainly his chin and power, would allow him to beat garcia.

Matthysse's corner did something I've never seen before. They stopped using the enswell and started pushing the swelling to the side of Lucas's face. At first, I was like WTF; but after a couple of rounds, Matthysse's eye did open up a bit. It was weird, 'cause you could see the cornerman moving the little bulge of swelling towards Lucas's temple between rounds.Comment

you don't believe thatI've been riding with Matthysse from the beginning, and I'll continue to root for him in the future. LOL at fools acting like Danny blew him out. The fight was competitive and could have gone either way.
I eat my crow for being so sure Lucas would knock Danny out. The one thing Garcia really impressed me with last night was with his chin, dude has a ****ing chin. I could not believe how well he took the shot that knocked his mouthpiece into the crowd.
I want to see a rematch, but I know Garcia is moving up to welter. Don't give a **** though, Lucas is still the man. Humble and cool as they come.
WAR MATTHYSSE
Credit to those who picked Garcia. I have some points to pay up.Comment

Ohhhhh I'm loving it today! I learned long ago not to under estimate Danny. He is calculated and has really good ring smarts. Sometimes he looks very ordinary because of his style but he makes it work. He seems more mature on the ring, has learned how to handle pressure and it always comes to the ring as an underdog so he knows how to deal with that pressure! Dangerous for anybody!Comment
