Much respect to both fighters...I wonder how the fight would have went had Lucas not have got thumbed (it appeared)...but Danny showed he's a real fighter especially since a lotta people thought he wasn't...

I had a feeling Danny would outbox Lucas and win a close fight but I did think Lucas could catch him at any point late and maybe put him away...Danny showed his credentials...

Don't dare put him in there with Floyd though...

I think he's earned it though. If GBP doesn't think so, they can match him against Soto-Karass first so he can get his feet wet at WW.

how was he exposed? he lost because of a faulty knockdown. so if the ref had properly warned garcia for rabbit punching he wouldn't have been exposed? he would still be a killer? or was he exposed just because he didn't ko garcia in 1 round?

With or without the knockdown Garcia dominated that fight. Do you need Judges to tell you what you saw??

The knockdown was legit and you’re complaining more that Lucas. He was a gentleman after the fight and realized he loss to the better boxer. No excuses. Fanboys man.

Thanks for the heads up. I'll need to download the fight in a little bit to revisit it to watch for that. I've literally never seen that happen before, but Matthysse does have a tendency to swell severely like he did in the Harris fight.

yes but why did he get caught on the ropes? that was after he got hit with a very obvious rabbit punch. usually a ref will stop the fight and warn the other fighter when they commit fouls like rabbit punches or low blows. didn't happen this time. so strange! ref forgot the rules everytime that it helped garcia.

Wait, don't tell me you didn't see Garcia spin him around off the ropes? That's a move you get taught in boxing. Also, when he spun him around he also threw his punch. You don't know where your punches are going to land when someone moves there head or gets spun...you just punch where you think the head is going to be! GTFOH

Garcia showed a great chin and had the balls to stay in the there against Matthysse's punches and counter them. We already knew that he had a killer left hook but tonight he also busted out a nice right hand as well.

I'm not surprised by the predictions. Garcia is the better of the two. I could understand if Matthysse KO'd everyone he has fought but he hasn't and there are fighters who he dropped, that got up and finished on their feet. Not so sure how posters on here think that Garcia is not capable of doing the same. The kid is younger and has some good skills to carry him. Both fighters can improve but Garcia has showed up in his biggest moments so far so no need to count him out just because Matthysse is a big puncher. There are many fighters/boxers who had big punches but lost. I'm picking Garcia to win in a fight that may not even be as competitive as most think. Overall I just think Garcia is the smarter of the two.
