True boxing fans should get a woody at the prospect of a Lara vs. Mayweather bout. Would be a true chess match. Lara the only guy anywhere near Floyd's weight class that is in Mayweather's neighborhood when it comes to boxing skills (although Mayweather still better). I wouldn't even predict a winner, I'd just love to see it.

If he can make 154, then I'm all for the fight. I just don't think he'd be favoured to win cos no one knows how cutting weight will affect him.

Likewise. Which is why if he wants it he should move down know and test the water.

I don't think a guy who as a 7 year professional has never been lower than MW is going to make 154. Just look at the history of that kind of thing.

I want someone to let me know when the last time he actually was at 154 was. Got to be close to a decade, if not more.

When's the last time he's actually been at 154? I know he hasn't been there as a professional.
You kidding me? You think dropping 6 pounds is really that hard? You think because your body has been a certain weight for many years it's intolerable to change? I guess 250 pound people can never lose weight then

News flash: fighters who walk around in there fighting weight are usually the kind of fighters who have no problem going up or down in weight.

I guess nobody should ever move to a different weight class unless they get IronDanHamza seal of apporval

Yes it can be very hard. It's a valid point. Don't try to belittle people for making it.

And for God's sake, stop sucking off Golovkin for 2 seconds please.

This is why among the other reasons.

I don't thin this fight will happen, but it is interesting match-up. Gennady said many times it's his 'dream fight'.

Yes, it "can" be very hard, key word is CAN. I'm sorry, just finding it laughable that you think dropping down or moving up weight class is so damn hard, even though each year hundreds upon hundreds of fighters do it, and millions upon millions of normal people also do it.

And for God's sake, stop denying Golovkin in every thread please. Shouldn't you be in some other thread defending Martin Murray or another British boxer?

How much body fat do 250 men tend to have?

Golovkin at 160 is ripped, he's in tremendous shape. He comes to the ring at 170 lbs, in great shape.

Losing an additional 6 lbs can be exceptionally hard especially when you haven't been that low in close ot a decade or more.

Ask Oscar De La Hoya when he dropped "just 7 lbs" after a decade. It's "only 7 lbs" right?

Ask Chad Dawson the same question when he returned to 168.

Give me one example of a fighter who hasn't weighed as low as the weight class being talked about in 7+ years and then when returning to it, didn't look terrible.

Please name these fighters who are 30 fights into their professional careers who have successfully dropped down in weight.

                      Hundreds of fighters do it?

You're acting like Golovkin has been at 154 recently.

When was the last time Golovkin weighed in at 154 or at Jr MW?

Name this long list of fighters who move down a weight class after 7+ years since they fought there?

Hundreds isn't there? Name them. And how did they fair when they did it?
