NOW? Or since the fight was signed? or before the fight was signed. Whether this comparison was now or last year, the comparison is close.

Why are you posting on this forum about the fight? Why not just shut up and wait until 1am est sunday? Keep your cynicism to yourself.

none of that matters though because Guererros style is to close the distance. So no matter if the fights was at higher or lower weights, Mayweather would still have to use his footwork against a guy with Guererros style

Canelo is much more explosive than Pavlik. He's faster and throws better combinations. I believe Pavlik to have a better work rate and better jab though. Really two different fighters.

          And what is Canelo?

Explosive? How do you define that? Pavlik has an 80.95% KO rate. His only 2 losses are to Hopkins and Martinez who are 2 skilled boxers. Canelo isn't more "explosive" than Pavlik at all.

If Mayweather wins it will be like any other Mayweather win. Superior boxing over an overmatched opponent. Hopkins was able to use his size, strength, and ring IQ against an HBO hyped up fighter. The unknown about Saturday's fight is whether Canelo can overcome all obstacles against him and break through Mayweather's defense, counters, and superior ring IQ. Canelo is 23, bigger, stronger, hit's harder, and has enough ring experience to win. But if Mayweather is way better than he estimated then all of his advantages goes out the window and he'll be just another fighter in the L column.

No Canelo is faster than Pavlik, with not as much power. Also Pavlik came up in weight for Hop.
