It didn't say his addiction, but rehab seems to be a bandaid, temporary fix, and people are in and out until, in my opinion, they make up their own mind to be clean. He needs to call on that dedication and will power that made him who he is. He may need some help, but addiction starts with self pity, or why would you want something to make you feel better? I'm just saying, many people die with their addiction, regardless of rehab, and many people quit without rehab.

I hate to hear what happened to make him make this decision. Hopefully **** gets worked out. In no way do I think this is promotional, because Oscars a promoter. He is on the business side of things so it would be beneficial for him to seem more stable than going back and forth to rehab. Good luck tho

I know first hand the road you go down when you are an addict, so my thoughts are with him, I truly hope he can be the 2% that recovers fully without relapsing.

With that said, I find the timing and the manner in which he chose to disclose this odd. He didn't HAVE to say he was going to rehab. He just could have pulled a no show, and released a statement saying he had personal issues or an emergency to attend to.

Is he on the verge of mental/financial/physical collapse?
Is his problem that bad that he has to go to rehab right now, fight week?

Surely, he didn't just pick the bottle or straw/hundred dollar bill back up recently. If he relapsed I'm sure it was quite some time ago and had plenty of time to get treatment. Why now?

If he is truly suffering that badly, then this is the right move for him. But if this is, as I suspect, an attempt to gain a little more attention, to add a couple more dollars onto this thing, it's a slap in the face to people everywhere who suffer or have suffered from addiction.

Either way I wish him the best.

Celebs nowadays use rehab as a way to keep their names in the headlines. How many people have been in and out just to stay relevant.

I hope Oscar is different, I hope he is OK. But I wouldn't put it completely past him. Oscar is salty about Mayweather. Maybe he doesn't want to be there for an event that will upstage what he did with Mayweather. Oscar is a bit of a narcissist, in a passive way.

Whether or not this is intentional, it still is brining more attention to the event.

He seems to be vicariously moving Canelo around in his career. This is it, his big day. It's like watching your child being born, or being at their wedding.

It has to be really, really bad in order for him to choose now as the time to get better. And if it is that bad I doubt we would be seeing him in public and filming for the "All Access" series.

When you are THAT bad where you have to go to rehab, you're not to be in public. It would be noticeable.
