Power can change a lot of things. canelo is no GGG but he has more power than pretty much anyone floyd has ever fought. You can back into corners and take shots on your arms and elbows and look for sweet counters when the guy doesn't have real big power but doing that against canelo will not end well for floyd. Even shots on the arms and shoulders off canelo will stay with him. He can't stand there and let canelo unload while looking for a nice straight right counter. He'll have to move a lot and stay off the ropes, if he fights like he did against cotto he'll lose, if he can keep it more like the guererro fight he'll win.

Thing is as OP said, guerrero was an easy fight for him ... not only did floyd outmatch him for speed and skill as is usual for a floyd fight etc but he alos outmatched him in strength and power as well and really if floyd outmatches you in strength/power what hope have you got? Floyd could keep that fight exactly where he wanted. He certainly won't have that advantage against canelo.

      Guerrero fought a good fight?
What were you watching, the kid was a lost puppy in the ring.
Even Mayweather felt bad that he let him get a couple shots in.

The man is 36 years old. Of course he is declining and has been for some time. It's his other attributes that gets him through at this point. If he fights long enough, he will lose like most fighters do.

In the first 2 rounds Floyd definitely showed a lot of ring rust, Guerrero tried to let Floyd press the action instead of applying tons of pressure like many other Floyd opponents, and he was successful in landing some good counter body shots.

After that Floyd shook off the rust and overmatched him with his superior speed and reflexes but it's hard to describe what I saw but something was missing with Floyd, his punches were sharp but he seems to get trapped a lot more than usual and I saw some of the issues he had with Cotto in this fight. I can't quite pin down what it is but I see decline, It's the body movement I think, the lateral movement just doesn't seem to be as crispy .

Guerrero did some good work on the inside when he could and I think his body shots were impressive, he didn't jab enough and should have basically focused on the counter shots to the body throughout the fight and jabbing upstairs. I actually give more credit to Guerrero after re watching the fight and I think he did really well for his level of ability and for the attributes he possesses, I gave him 4 rounds.

I had the same reaction to floyds performance against guerrero. He put on a dominating performance but his movement at times didnt seem as fluid as before. I saw him needing to use more upper body movement to compensate for the fact that his legs alone couldn't get him out of guerreros range onf punches. He was dodging a lot of shots but at the same time not as comfortably as before.

I think its the only shot to see Floyd beat , if he wins this and stays at 147 he will retire unbeaten , I see this as the danger fight .

I agree with the topic starter I seen a definite aging in Floyd and he is playing around with weight , last show he is getting twitchy and that's his mind trying to push his reflexes , when he was prime it just happens in a nano second , Guerrero was slow with wide punches , Canelo is fast with short crisp punches and a lot stronger and punches harder .

Its possible that Floyd has an easy fight he is a boxing master after all , but I think Floyd is gunna be really pushed in this , could even lose it , Im looking forward to it as it has intangibles .

Yeah I did notice him being twitchy but even if he wins this fight might take something out of him. On one hand I feel like Floyd will school the kid and on the other I feel like there could be that Tarver Jones moment where he loses that reflex nanosecond he relies on and gets caught flush with a punch he doesn't see and gets KO'd.

Also can you elaborate on the decline you see in Floyd just out of interest.

I seen a fighter in Floyd who is showing aging for sure. What happen in the ghost fight. Has more to do for what style Floyd trained for. He trained for the ghost to make it nasty tough on the inside fighting in the pocket trying to out man him. So the game plan was to go into the fight and be physical clinch wrestle tie up. Hopefully be in better shape to out last the ghost. Watch the first 4 rounds. Once Floyd realized the ghost couldn't hit him or put man. He stayed in the pocket. Fighting with head faints and angles. It was no need to run or waste alot of energy Bc the ghost couldn't hit the broad side of a barn.
