I agree that Mosely was coming off a good win. but Mosely was 38, and regardless of where he was ranked at the time, he was not at or close to his prime for that fight.
That's fine - but for Floyd to say that canelo beat an old Mosely when Floyd did too, is pretty funny. Floyd obviously has fought a lot of great fighters, but his win over Gatti was for a paper titile, not Tzyu's real championship; so it's not like Floyd is immune from easy title wins either

actually, Mosely lost to Floyd, had a draw with Mora that probly shudve been a win and lost to Pac bf his fight wit Canelo. So, he was WWAAAYYY over the hill for the fight wit Canelo, but its not like he had a ton of losses in a row - he had 2 - vs the top 2 lb 4 lb fighters in the world

THis thread is littered with the very worst of NSB. The posters who before the floyd fight posted hundreds of times that SHane would beat floyd , floyd was scared or him, and that Shane and not floyd was the best WW in the world.

well it was an old mosley, but not a shot mosley. the division was crying out for mayweather vs mosley at the time (other than may vs pac) and was a legit fight to me. that is one of his few legit fights in recent times.

Mosley was coming off the longest layoff of his career. 17 months. Matter of fact Moseley has never had a 12 month layoff in his career up to that point. Let alone at such a late stage of his career. His career was called shot 10 years prior matter of fact. Are we saying Vernon Forrest is better than Floyd? Because u are giving Floyd too much credit for that win. And Vernon handled Moseley like no other.

I would have loved to see it too. However, Mosley turn the fight down at 135when Mayweather was champion at 130. Too much risk and not enough reward at the time because Mayweather was still trying to make a name for himself and Mosley's purse would have been less than $1 million at the time. Mosley also turned the fight down before Mayweather fought Oscar and came to regret it later as he chased and begged Floyd for a fight after Floyd beat Oscar.

After Mosley beat Margarito and before Mayweather signed to fight Mosley, all the haters on this board were saying that Mosley was the best welterweight, he would KO Floyd and Mayweather was dodging Mosley by trying to make a fight with Pacquaio. After Mayweather beat him, all the haters suddenly claimed that Mosley was old, over the hill, etc and that Manny Pacquaio was the best fighter at welterweight and Floyd was dodging Pacquaio, who turned the fight down months earlier. If he had fought and beat Pacquaio instead of fighting Mosley, people like you would have claimed that he simply beat an undersized fighter who had suffered two one-punch knockouts to journeymen fighters earlier in his career and he was avoiding Mosley.

No one is giving Mayweather too much credit. People like you constantly post nonsense like this and fail to give him any credit, regardless of what he does..

Mayweather head and hills over Trout? Let's not give too much credit to Canelo for the Trout win. And lets not take any away. What I mean is that was a pretty competitive fight. Though Canelo clearly won, wasnt by much. After the knockdown Trout fought better. And had Canelo not known he was clearly ahead on the scorecards he wouldnt have disengaged in the later rounds and actually took more chances. On the flipside lets give Canelo his due respect. Everyone including me thought Trout would win. And Canelo impressed me with his boxing and defense. After this fight I knew he was ready for Mayweather period.
