His handlers have brought him along really poorly in my opinion and done him a disservice. He is VERY green in terms of getting into boxing late and didn't have a lot of amateur fights, but instead of putting him in with fighters that will take his shots and give him 12 rounds of experience, they've just been trying to hype him onfirst round KOs.

Now he's taken a HUGE step up and KOd some fringe contenders. What happens when an opponent takes his shots and drags him into the later rounds? Dude has never heard the bell at the end of the 4th round before.

Why no respect for Deontay Wilder? Because of this. He fought the slowest and fattest people to ever wear a pair of gloves. 29 wins and 29 KOs mean nothing when you go out lookign the worst you can find. So far, the guys a joke. Maybe one day he will prove to be more than a joke but laready I dislike him for picking the worst opponents he can find.

I can understand why Wilder gets disrespected, he has faced some of the worst opponents ever, seriously, his best wins are against a shot Harrison and Liakh. That is awful! Having said that he has huge potential, his power is unreal, he has a great physique and a good jab. He just needs to get some rounds under his belt now.

Its easy to look good against the bottom of the food chain. Most elite fighters would end that type of boxers in seconds too without breaking a sweat.

He has a lot of potential, but he's basically feasted on bums because of his immense power. He's a terrible boxer. Hopefully he improves and becomes a real factor at heavyweight.

You know, you could also make the point that his handlers are doing the best thing in the world for him.

I’m not in the gym training with this guy and haven’t even seen most of his fights, so I’m definitely not going to make any proclamation on whether or not he really has the talent to become champion one day. But if he doesn’t and his handlers recognized that early on then at least they are putting him in line for a title shot and one big payday.

On the other hand, if he had lost a fight or two along the way he would likely have been “just another guy” in the division.

JMM gets knocked down a lot but he recovers fast and wins, but im assuming these werent JMM flash knockdowns tho huh?

I sent u some green k but it wont allow me cuz i already got u recently bro
Was also sparked by a Russian kid in the amateurs (with headgear on) - that one was a fight ender. Just a minute -

Also on the clip a younger Sergei Kovalev scoring a tasty KD.

The two fights are about 1.35 and 1.55

Don't get me wrong, nothing would make me happier for a HW KO artist from the US to emerge and re-ignite HW interest by the big broadcasters, but I'm expecting Wilder to fold the moment he goes in with a live body.
