  • That was not a close fight, even viewed round by round. Burns got knocked down, had his jaw broken, had no balance, had no inside game, never hurt Beltran once, was on the verge of quitting - and yet it was a close fight?

Oh wait, he showed good "fitness".

    **** outta here.

I had it 3-3 after 6 but can see it being 4-2 Beltran, but Burns most definitely won the 11th and 12th, that gives him at the very least 4 rounds.

People scoring it by a land slide for Beltran means that they scored 4 rounds, back to back, for Beltran, even though he seemed to take the 9th and 10 lightly, both rounds which could have gone either way. I just don't see this as an 8-4 fight, that's ridiculous by some of the people.

Several British fighters have lost their titles at home on points. You have to understand, when a fight is this close, the champ often gets the nod, I think many of the people calling it a robbery aren't boxing fans but people who don't like Burns or Brit boxers in general. It's the typical childish behaviour I've come to expect on this site.
Huh? I was replying to a guy who said Ward shouldn't fight Froch in the UK, and I told him the judging ain't much better in the U.S. so I don't understand why you're arguing with me...

I could see a round the other way, I had the 3rd close.

It's tough on Ray because I think Beltran won the physical fight, Burns couldn't hurt him and he dislocated his jaw but scored on rounds Burns was putting work in and won enough of them to level it imo.

Again, I'm not saying Burns won. I thought the fight was a draw.

You actually thought Burns won more rounds than Beltran in that fight? Are you serious?

Well there is at least one other poster in the thread who gave Burns 6 rounds, and a two judges ringside who gave Burns more rounds. So yeah...

                • I don't ever expect 100% of the people in the world to be in unanimous agreement on a fight outcome. Especially with fans, hometown favorites, etc. But it appears that a strong enough majority knows what they witnessed and know that Beltran was jobbed in the UK.

But the WBO has the best review process of all of the sanctioning bodies so let's see how that turns out.

Actually there are 4 people on the poll thread who voted it a draw, and one of the judges.

My opinion is my opinion, I scored the fight as it happened. I'm not going to change it just because the herd are screaming robbery.
