He was jabbing the face off Beltran, tying him up when he got close, took the bodyshots on the elbows, landed some good shots too, most of them to Beltran's face and head.

Now, he got hurt a couple of times, and was dropped once and took some big left hooks.

But get this, I scored the fight a draw. I didn't have Burns winning.

It's about rounds won. Boxing is scored by rounds.

Nah most of the commentators were fair, two of them scored it for Beltran, and one said "Ricky knows he didn't win tonight, it's his duty to rematch Beltran".

All the British commentators and pundits had beltran winning/ said it was a robbery AND said that Burns should have been deducted a point for holding.

They are telling it like it is

I had Beltran up by 1 point, but it was a CLEAR Beltran win. The rounds he won were clear rounds. It was easy to keep track of this fight imo.

I gave Ricky the first 2 rounds, the 6th and 7th, and the 11th and 12th, but the rest I gave to Beltran, but Beltran had a 10-8 round...
Out of interest, really how can you say it was a clear Beltran win if you only had him up by 1 point?

No, it's my response to the question of what Burns did well. You should read bro.

          • Ward should not come to the UK for a rematch with Froch

I thought it was close, but clear.

Ricky won rounds 1,2,6,7,11 and 12.

The rest I gave to Beltran. That would make it 6-6, but Beltran has the 10-8.

I thought the rounds were clear for the most part.

Lucas Matthysse shouldn't fight Garcia in the US. He was robbed twice.

                See the logic?

Yeah the commentators did a great job in all honesty.
I personally scored it for Beltran by a single point, I think the fight could be scored any 3 ways, a Burns win by a point, a Beltran win or a draw, it's not a robbery. 2 of those cards were damn close. Out of the first 6 rounds you could score it all even or 4-2 Beltran, after that things get better for Beltran for a couple rounds but there were points where he took rounds off and Burns jabbed very well.

For me the KD played a HUGE role, giving Beltran the win. In a scoring sense it was a bit like Pacquiao/Marquez 2.

TBF, I think Burns did indicate a rematch but I didn't see the end of the interview. I'd welcome a rematch before Burns moves on, the dislocating jaw was a very big factor in Burns dropping his work rate and holding.

Let's give credit where credit's due, Burns was a warrior and a professional tonight, he dislocated his jaw (damn painful, trust me) took huge shots for 10 rounds, was KD and kept coming. Even finished off with an interview lol I like the guy even more.

He almost got robbed in the U.S., I think two judges had it 115-113 so one more round for Froch and it would have been a majority draw.

You had it 6-6 on rounds man. That was the point I was making to the Light Speed, boxing is scored on rounds, on rounds this fight was close.

You can't say one round is better than the other unless you're going to score the round a 10-8.
