Yes i did. And i based that on his performance against Berto. Boy was i wrong. Then later finding out that the rumor of Berto being an overrated bum was really true. I was judging by Guerrero fight. I was way off.
With Canelo...im going straight from Gut feeling. Size, Speed, Youth, Strength,and punching power.

I'll give you that Vargas has a better resume than Canelo. But I still think he gets outboxed by Trout and loses to any version of Shane.

Totally agree that shane beats vargas anytime,,, but shane is a truely great fighter,,,

When i see a prospect getting billed as the "next big thing" i just look at if they are destroying guys...

young tyson, oscar, shane, vargas, tito, cotto all were destroying guys left and right early in their careers,, yes it wasnt in superfights, but canelo has struggled to dominant guys like hatton, rhodes, gomez, etc.. Guys like that get destroyed by the "next big thing" if they are the real deal...
Just look at the whooping cotto put on gomez and gomez was giving canelo hell before the premature stoppage,,

Canelo is a good fight, but when its all said and done i think he will have a career similar to dawson, taylor, etc... He will have some titles and be in big fights, but i dont think he is the next oscar or roy jones IMO

Canelo has won, but he has never impressed me to the point where i think he is the next trinidad or oscar

To me Canelo lost the Trout fight, that open scoring felt so rigged, it was a disgrace to watch... Canelo won the first 2, then Trout took control, once Trout found out he was down, he had to open up and take chances because he needed a ko to win, Canelo caught him once, he went down but was not hurt really bad...

Canelo gassed in the Trout fight, it was clear as day, now he has to lose 2 more pounds to fight Floyd, i see him gassing against Floyd and if that happens, Floyd, barring no hand injuries will try to stop him...
