Pretty simple BOTH Mayweather AND Pacquiao owe all their PPV stardom to ONE MAN = OSCAR DE LA HOYA
They both became mainstream stars with that one fight. Mayweather with his exposure to 24/7 then Pacquiao with the huuge underdog to pull the upset.

and RapidFire, How can you say only Mayweather? Manny's been on cover of TIME magazine, and KEPT his sponsors w/NIKE, Hennesy,Pistachio etc.
You can say Mayweather may be bigger in some parts of U.S. but Pacquiao is def bigger worldwide

He's undefeated, let wait if he can do this after he has some loses as Oscar was able to.

But you are correct. And part of it is because he undefeated. He fights and caters to the Mexican Holiday were everyone parties as if it was St. Patricks day. He picks opponets who have a name for them selfs or charisma. He has avoided top contenders that may give him a tough fight. He stays in the hip hop scene. His personality and having something new to announce everytime Pac fights. Wait till Pac fights, Floyd will have something to announce or his fans will flood this site with Floyd talk. He got many paid and groupies keeping his name than you have the 24/7, the internet.

He done good for himself, he just shouldn't act like a baby when he ask the same people he offended to support him. People who watch boxing will watch his fight even if they dislike the guy.

Pac is still up there with Floyd.
Hopkins has no, Mosley, Ortiz, Marquez, etc. (Floyd has name fighters people know or can respect) But he had shine after beating Delahoya, the Trinidad rematch would have made him great money but he shinned away from that.
Mosley, no name opponet but Mosley can always bring in the ppv with a name fighter because people remember him as the guy who beat Delahoya.

The Delahoya link is the key to success. Delahoya had Chavez Sr.

FMJr's thoughts on psychology or "business philosophy" are not of much interest, if any.
In the absence of a huge talent (which is a nature's gift) no ego, no business plan, no hard work would have helped...

I said it a million times and it worked like a charm.

          He modeled himself after Tyson...
become the villain and people will pay to see you fall.

No different from WWE or WCW

            Difference is, Tyson wasn't acting.

You have to understand money to understand this move. It's better to be hated by most and loved by some in boxing. Gets you more buys. Think about it. He started doing these things in the Gatti fight(that's when people start noticing). He became the villain almost sort ofl ike 50 cent. Negative publicity is still publicity. Anyone with common sense who understands the business asset of boxing knows this.

People love to see a guy talk a bunch of trash and see how he backs it up. No one who loves entertainment cares too much for a gentleman.

When he has millions to literally burn...... You think all that's nothing to kids????
Edgarg Floyd sure does turn you into a bitter old man.

All that stuff about children out of wedlock is antiquated and obsolete.. Much like yourself. Children can be happy in multiple situations, children are more durable than you give them credit for.

Floyd is trying so hard to get people to like him.

Now that he let us know this, can we now expect him to act like his true personality? Or will his true personality shine through? ?

Can he answer why he'd wear the sunshades on most of the confrontation pics between him and Canelo?

                    • as usual floyd's confirmed that he's a total fraud. he'll act, react, say anything to play the part of his business plan.

its like ducking opponents, is also a part of a business plan to market his undefeated record. all he got is his '0' and he'll protect it no matter what and not fight opponents that have a good chance of beating him.

that's floyd legacy... atg my ass
