Yeah, three years ago when he had a smaller frame. He hasn't been at 147 in a couple years, why ask him to come down to 147? Canelo said a few months ago that the fight would have to be at his own weight.

Floyd also said a year ago that he would never ask for a catch weight because he wanted to fight guys at the weight they felt comfortable at, yet here he is using a catch weight.

I still have yet to see anything where Floyd personally asked for said catchweight.

All I have seen is that Floyd and his team hypocritically jumped at the offer of said catchweight.

LOL ok, you're overlooking the point. We get it, you feel that mayweather said "CW or not fight." I simply disagree. I feel an "intermediate weight" was offered, which is EXACTLY what Canelo's trainer is quoted as saying, and that Mayweather agreed. It's simple.

Does this mean that Mayweather didn't deep down inside WANT a CW all along? Who knows. As a competitor though, of COURSE you want every advantage you can get.

I'm not overlooking ANY point! For Mayweather to suggest or demand or accept a very obvious Catchweight is EXACTLY what he and his fans berated Pac for doing. There is no way for him or anyone to make it out to be anything other than that. The fight is set for 152 and the reason it is not at 154 is because of Mayweather, not the Schafer, not the Tooth Fairy, Mayweather.

Anyway, if to answer your post, if Floyd was so adamant about fighting at 147, he would've chose an even larger CW, like the typical 150 lbs that we see so many WW do to 154s.

I disagree, Canelo signing for 150 is meaningless since there's no chance in hell he makes it to 150.

Now the haters can't turn the tables and claim Floyd was the one who offered it.

At 153.5lbs Canelo doesn't look emaciated. This is pretty much how he will look if he comes in at 152.
