Margarito is the bigger, stronger guy. He started his career as a WW, were as Guerrero started at what, FW? Taller, longer reach....

The more effective "pressure fighter" is not even up for discussion when it comes down to it between the two.

Guerrero is more skilled, but as far as a the more effective fighter at 147, where Floyd faced Robert, and where he "would" have faced Margarito, I don't think it's really up for debate.

At 147, Margarito is the more dangerous fighter.

What you say about Guerrero is partially true. Your description perfectly matches the second half of the fight, Guerrero just wanted to hear the final bell.

If you rewatch the first half of the fight though, when Guerrero still believed he could win, you'll probably notice that he was applying intelligent pressure, attempting to anticipate Floyd's counter with his own. Give Floyd something to think about.
For me it isnt "intelligent pressure" unless you're winning rounds. And if you're not winning rounds, you should give it EVERYTHING you've got to try.

Marg is just relentless, he'll get hit 10X just to try to hit you once. He will risk everything to win, thats true pressure, and he knows how to use it correctly. Guerrero trying to win it by trying to counter the best counter punchers's counters wasnt going to win him the fight, it was a dumb strategy IMO. You're never going to beat floyd like that. You're getting paid like 5 mil for a once in a lifetime chance, you should be willing to get KO'd to get the KO

Margarito had killer body shots, and uppercuts, i dunno why you compared him with Guerrero.

And yes Mayweather ***** out when Margarito told him in a press conference he wanted to fight him.

              Mayweather is a fake G.

You should ask Little Floyd about that, he almost **** his pants when Margs told him that he wanted to fight him and he would not let go of Margaritos hand lol.

I completely see your point, and I agree to an extent.

Guerrero just wanted to survive from a certain point on, he surely wasn't willing to get KO'd by trying to get the K.O., I can't disagree with that.
His strategy to negate Floyd's counter was only effective for one round or two, but he didn't have a plan B or C, or at least didn't show it.

On the other hand, getting hit 10x to land once is hardly a good idea when facing one of the best defensive fighters of this era, and a great counter puncher at that.

That is why I don't think Margarito would have fared better than Guerrero against Mayweather, that though doesn't mean that Guerrero would beat Margarito, for I actually believe he wouldn't.

Margarito would have been a very tough fight for Floyd, anyone who can walk through his punches and pressure him non-stop for 12 hard rounds will cause him problems. There's a big difference between Margarito (5'11, 165 pounds, heavy handed, granite chin) and Gatti (5'7, 150 pounds), Baldomir (5'7, 160 pounds, pillow handed), Guerrero (5'8, 150 pounds)... Margarito never gassed and his relentless pressure, size (heavy, tall, long arms), and high output would have probably given Floyd his most physically demanding fight. There's a good reason why Floyd didn't want this fight.
