I could've sworn Trout was supposed to school Canelo.

Trout missed about 85% of his punches that night. What fight were you watching?

No, he didn't outbox Canelo in that same round. That was just Malignaggie blowing smoke up everyone's ass. I remember that round because I watched the fight yesterday.

Malignaggie favors pure, slick, urban boxers because he himself can't punch for **** and saw a bit of himself in Trout. And of course our Lower IQ'd members of NSB ate it up or it served as their 'Confirmation bias' since they were rooting against Canelo anyway.

There is not one point where Trout was "boxing the ****" out of Canelo. It's actually the opposite, Canelo was boxing Trout's ears off and displaying wonderful defense and Ring Generalship, never letting Trout lead the way the fight was going. It was a fight full of missed punches and Trout missed more and got knocked down on his ass.

HE LOST, face up to it.

He actually landed around 20% more or less and Canelo didn't do much better. Trout visibly out-threw and out-landed Canelo by a wide margin. The open scoring forced Trout into an aggressive style after the open scoring after the fourth round inexplicably had him 4-0 down on two cards (3-1 on the other). A more aggressive style led to the knockdown in the 6th round. In the end it was a very close fight and certainly nothing close to the dominant win some Mexican (and Floyd fans) would have us believe. I actually scored it 114-113 for Trout while scoring it live. I scored it the same on my second viewing with several close rounds.

You're absolutely right about that. Though this majority sentiment was largely swimming under the radar, therefore hard to pinpoint. There weren't explosions of threads being made saying this. Just an array of low-profile posts in other threads, saying that Canelo won't even get to Floyd because Trout will hand him his ass.

It didn't happen. Not only did Canelo win that fight but he didn't do it in some stereotypical fashion by being the come-forward aggressor and out-muscling Trout, he actually beat Trout in his own game, displaying defense and safety first boxing.

"90% picked trout to win" but the poll shows a 45% split.

As many as they need to so that when Mayweather beats a drained Canelo people will call him GOAT. They will also make 50 more threads about how Mayweather would have boxed Canelo just as easily even if he hadn't been drained and that beating Canelo proves Floyd would have beat Trout (or any other fighter at 154; incl. Lara) by a shutout.

And the post above you is yet another person saying "everyone thought Trout was going to win."

Great point. The commentating for that fight was downright sickening. Paulie and Al should be ashamed of themselves.
