Stevens has vastly improved since 2006. He will offer a legit test to GGG, before being defeated.

Must not remember before GBP jumped to Showtime exclusively and Chocolate had a belt when GGG and his team offered him a shot.... but he said he was on a path for the WBO belt and he wanted to complete it

Thats the only time Quillin has been happy to step foot in a ring with Golokin, when there was a legal agreement between then that doesnt allow Quillin to fight Golovkin.

If GGG brutalises Stevens as I expect he will, I cant wait to see Quillin's face and hear the post fight interview

Despite the fact that it is (at least to my eyes) a blatant mismatch, GGG vs Stevens is an attractive fight. It brings a heavy hitting NYC guy 'gainst the uncrowned king at MW at MSG. Despite there being many more proven fighters at 160, I don't think any of them could provide a more exciting fight for one reason alone....Stevens is a big hitter with a punchers chance.

It's a personal opinion, but looking down the list of MWs, there is not one that I feel would have a betting chance against Golovkin, not one who actually has better chance than Stevens with his heavy hands. Jr perhaps, but if he shares his fathers legendary toughness he would be beaten beyond cruelty, Quillin - should the boxing Cold War come to an end? Well, decent speed, decent power, yet unable to put N'Dam N'Jikam away after six KDs? I simply don't know, but every instinct tells me that Quillin's not the guy to handle GGG. Maravilla, bless his soul for being one of the finest fighters of the last few years, is looking like he may be outta the picture...and then...

Who else at MW could contend with GGG?

Maybe, but in April he went the [8 round] distance with a dude who had 9 losses. He's not that good man. He can knock out journeymen in 1 round but GGG ain't one of those.

Shouldn't he be looking at tougher competition either at Martinez or at a higher weight class.

Anyway, Stevens has a puncher's chance because of his devastating power which is probably more than Golovkin's last 27 opponents.

Of course he does. In fact Kid Ducklate probably goes to sleep dreaming of a scenario where Stevenson puts 3G to sleep. Quillin is a joke and I wish him failure in his career.

Then if that's the case maybe the posters dismissing Stevens should give this fight a chance. First he got grief wanting more money, then once the fight was signed everyone he's saying he's about to get killed. Why have this fight if the outcome of the fight is a foregone conclusion. It's not like we didn't just have a major upset in boxing a little over week ago.
