Think Round #6 and 8. Total humiliation.

In my opinion, especially as a righty/conventional fighter, Canelo must have a certain amount of punch variety in order to trouble a guy like mayweather. He will have to jab effectively, feint, lead with rights, as well as utilize the left hook to the body. Hell, he could even occassionally switch to the southpaw stance in an attempt to land straight lefts or right hooks.

If anything, Mayweather has shown more vulnerability (if you can call it a vulnerability)to well set up rights than conventional left hooks. This can be seen in his fights with Marquez, Mosley, and I believe late in the 11th round against De La Hoya.

Agreed,,, Its interesting and missleading that people are reffering to Cotto vs Mayweather as a "blue print", i posted the most "successful" (for ths discussion Im going to have to use "qutation marks a lot") round cotto had and in my opinion he was unsure, wreckless and unsuccessful for the most part while floyd was not even bothered, nor hurt and landed some good shots of his own.

I believe people are reffering to "blue print" or "success" vs mayweather in terms of: what may win the round for you in the "Eyes" of the judges...

There is no formula or blue print but the fight I think showed a situation in which Floyd was concerned was the early rounds of the Judah fight. Not saying judah had a lot of success but floyd did feel uncomfortable with judahs speed enough to keep his guard unconventionally high for floyd.
cotto clearly won this round but it seemed floyd was catching a second wind this round

i think round 6 is a better round for cotto

That is so accurate...one of the best description of Money style.

You're right about the Judah fight. The key to Judah's success was his speed. He was probably as fast if not slightly faster than Mayweather that night and did make him uncomfortable that night. (Cory Spinks would have been an interesting opponent for Mayweather if that fight took place.) Judah also has this sneaky attack pattern. He blinds you with double jabs and sneaks around his opponents weak side with a hook. But again, like so many of Mayweather's opponents, once his defense tightens, his accuracy gets better, and he makes his necessary adjustments, usually his opponent get frustrated to the point of losing.

              QUESTION? ?????????????

If Canelo does everything all these experts says he needs to do in order to win & Floyd steps his game up another notch and makes it look easy again will Floyd get any credit? ????? Or will people continue to make excuses again???

Although Marquez dissed Canelo a few times in the past. I belive he needs to watch video of Marquez vs. Mayweather. Marquez did a lot of good things in that ring against Mayweather that get over looked. Good think is Canelo has the style and power to do what Marquez did at times but this time Mayweather is up against a figther that can equal his strength.

I thought he fought well for what he could do but even then, most of that stuff was very early and dont forget that was a Floyd who had been off for a very long time so he was extremely rusty, e****ally early

this is like trying to cheat before a science test and turns out its math.

Canelo should take note to follow up with a jab after his combos.. it seems every time Cotto lands a jab it's because he's just thrown a combo then a follow up jab causing Mayweather to move his hands either to the side(s) of his face or down his torso.
