Not to sound like a Donaire fan, but I think he'll want the rematch with Rigo after the Darch tune-up. We'll probably hear him say it in the post-fight.

However, Arum will publicly shit on that idea - he'll either say "HBO puked again at the very mention of Rigondeaux", or come up with some other reason to not put Donaire against him. Maybe a divisional duck like "There's better opportunities at 130".

As I said in another post, it seems like the popular trend to bash Donaire right now, but I genuinely believe he wanted to fight Mares and would've fought Rigo afterwards. Sure, he fought scared in the Rigo fight, but I still think he's a warrior at heart. Arum's the real coward.

Why do fans make excuses for fighters? Nonito, like Pac, is hiding behind Arum. When Mares was brought up, Nonito was saying that if Golding Boy cared about boxing that they would give him Mares. Well Oscar sent over a contract and all Donaire did was make excuses. Why wasn't Donaire demanding Arum to give him Mares? Donaire was vocal with Oscar until Oscar sent the contract. Then made excuses for three years in why Rigo wasn't worthie and when the Rigo contract was up Nonito was trying to find a way to pull out and demanded testing when he claimed that his opponents didn't have to test. Now Nonito claims he can no longer make weight one day after the fight were before he was saying how he had the best training ever and weight was spot on.

Then when fight is finally made, Donaire starts acting like a b;tch and threatens to pull out and demands testing when just the his fight before he said his opponents didn't have too. Rigo is the one who said he would take the tests and Donaire demanded that he back up what he said. The unfair fact is, Rigo isn't half as marketable as Donaire and he has himself to blame because even though he put on a masterful performance, it lacked excitement and fans bood as the result and now Rigo cannot get a TV slot. Rigo now needs to change his ring approach and become more exciting to get back on TV. But he said he would not change his style. You need to get something through your head, DONAIRE, not Rigo, is the one who has more options in his career. It may not be fair but it is what it is and there is nothing you can do but learn to live with it because, once again, we are at square one where Rigo was before the Donaire fight, he is begging for some recognition and big fights and Donaire still calls the shots. Its not fair but it is the result of Rigo's choices that he makes when the bell rings. He has too much power in his fists NOT TO try to become more aggressive. It is LIFE OR DEATH for him regarding his career to become more aggressive. He has ZERO charisma and charm which is because he is deadpan serious so he has to be more flashy in the ring and go after guys. Only one reason why beating a guy does not mean you inherit their celebrity status and that is because one guy still has that electrifying style, and one doesn't. Donaire accepted the fight and fought Rigo. That is all there is to it. It doesn't matter who pressed forward or backward, Donaire is still seen as the exciting fighter and Rigo is not. I'm not saying that it right but the fact is, the networks are not interested in Rigo and they are in Donaire. It is public perception no matter who you think landed the better shots. This is not something you have control over. Rigo has to do something different or time will pass him by. And Donaire is not fighting bums. Anyone who is in the top 2-5% of what they do for a living is nowhere near a bum. There probably isn't a single person on these boards who is in the top 2-5% in the world at what they do for a living.

What the heck you talking about? Rigo challenged Nonito were Nonito claim to be the best 122 pounder and were he ruled. Why would the winner chase the challenger? Nonito knows he can't beat Rigo and becomes clear why Nonito made excuse for the last three years why Rigo wasn't worthy of a fight.

Anyway, Gradovich isn't a bad fighter at all. He has solid overall technique, above average handspeed, good stamina, and his chin appears decent so far. Interesting fight if it gets made. I would prefer the Rigo rematch of course, but this isn't bad at all, either.

Agree with those who said Rigo should be more flexible about weight. He needs to understand that fair or unfair, the Donaire win didn't make him a superstar, and if he wants to get more money fights, he has to compromise. I have nothing but respect for him, but his constant whining and sense of entitlement is off-putting.

Rigo kicked his ass. Get over it. Nobody wants to see a rematch to a one sided fight. Rigo is lineal champ and king of 122. He can fight wherever the wants to. And weren't they planning on Donaire vs Terrazas at 122 before he was forced to fight Santa Cruz?


And people need to fall back. This is a good fight. Gradovich is a world champion so logically that's who you go after. It's just one damn fight. He may fight Chris John, Salido and Lomachenko at some point too.

It's fine is he wants to run from Rigo. Its fine with the disrespectful campaign from Arum to Rigo. Rigo did the best, showing to the world that most of those super professionals champions are a fake. Donaire has what he deserves, his reputation will never be the same even when Arun wants to rebuild it. He should be more interest in the rematch than Rigo, in order to be again someone.
