Respectfully, baloney. Mayweather got much more credit for his performance against Mosley than Pacquiao did. That was the fight that De La Hoya said convinced him that Floyd was truly on an elite level like no other boxer. Similarly, Mayweather's victory over an undefeated Ricky Hatton helped cement his status as a superstar! What are you talking about? Sure, Pac also got huge credit for that amazing KO (vs. a bigger Hatton), as he should have. Finally, regarding Cotto, most would agree that Pacquiao beat him in a more impressive fashion than did Mayweather (not that Floyd wasn't very good) and did it to a Cotto who was 2 years younger.

Make sure you're not drinking some of that Mayweather brand Kool-Aid.

I was speaking of the people on here and other blogs. You always hear other fighters give Floyd credit because they know the sport. It's the people on the blogs I was referring to. I think Floyd is his own worse enemy because he's light ages ahead of the rest of the pack so he will never get the credit he deserves. He makes GOOD fighters look like nothing.

you ever notice how other fighters treat their opponents with respect before the fight? notice how they don't downplay them as inferior?

Floyd might want to try that if he wants credit.

I Disagree, Did you not see ESPN??? Skip Bayless (a major sports figure) was bragging about Pacquiao like he had just beat one of the Klits.
Mosley was back in the 90's as far as he was concerned.

First of all, I can't praise you enough for keeping the tone respectful. THANK YOU. I honestly was not trying to taunt or bug you at all, and I appreciate that you didn't misconstrue my post.

As to your point. Sites like this one are made up of all types, right? You've got those who would consider it the honor of their life to lick off Mayweather's toe jam. On the other hand you've got people who sound like they would literally murder Floyd if they could get away with it. That's just the reality. I would say, Boggs, that the majority of knowledgeable boxing posters acknowledge the superlative gifts Floyd has demonstrated in the ring. That doesn't mean there might not be some valid criticisms of certain aspects of his career. I was just critiquing his reasoning regarding the comments made in the original post.

No problem at all. I'm not one of those who name call or get disrespectful when somebody disagrees.

Skip Bayless? So ESPN is not supposed to have a show where two opinionated hosts go at it? So should ESPN not allow Stephen A. Smith to be the biggest proclaimer of Mayweather greatness on the planet? That's like saying that newspapers shouldn't have an editorial section.
