I disagree. He should just forget ppv altogether.

Why not face a Froch if you were Chavez.........Ward hasn't done **** but beat a bunch of c and B level fighters in fights in his home town where he had every single advantage, dude is a fraud..........................

I get that, but he shouldn't be demanding 7 figure sums to fight stiffs. Commercially, he's not on that level but he's acting like he is.

Froch has never mentioned Chavez. I don't think Froch's about the money as much as other fighters, he wants to fight the best. I think Ward v Froch will happen next summer, assuming Ward v Chavez does not.

Andre Ward, I could care less if he ever fought again. Nobody cares about him.

Look, I'm going to rant because I think it needs to be said.

Andre Ward, in the span of 2 years fought Sakio Bika, Arthur Abraham, Carl Froch and Mikkel Kessler. What does he have to show for it? Nothing but a couple of green boxes on BoxRec.

He did everything right. He fought the top rated fighters in his division, he beat them all, he carried himself with class and he cleaned out his division. That is everything we ask for from a fighter. What do we reward him with...NOTHING.

Why? Because we want to see ignorance and ******ity. We would rather pay money to see Adrien Broner act like a damn fool against Gavin Rees and Maidana level opposition, because he entertains us. We would rather see, Brandon Rios take 400 power punches in the face because it entertains us. (Even though we're not going to be paying his medical bills when he suffers long term brain damage but that's another story)

So what that tells me is....we don't care if a fighter takes on the best fighters in his division. Ward did that and he doesn't have **** to show for it. Floyd carefully selected opponents with big fan bases and we made him the richest athlete in pro sports. Broner is on his way to making millions in this game because he knows how it works.

So let's go back to Andre Ward.."I cleaned out 168, I carried myself with class, but my fight purses don't reflect that. I guess its not about fighting the best. So let's try something else." That's the message we the fans sent to Andre Ward.

Because of that, I support Andre Ward. Get the most money you can out of this brutal and violent sport while you are in your prime. Chavez has a huge fanbase and it will be the biggest payday Ward will ever make in his career. He fought the best, but that's not what the fans want. So on to plan B. Either put out a rap CD, record yourself taking a dump at Popeye's and wear a gold grill, or just fight guys that can financially benefit you.

The division was weak, his best win is a over a Froch that struggled and got lucky with a blown shot small middleweight in Taylor, that shows how far those divisions(160-168) have regressed over the years, and Ward has been trying his hardest to hide in the weak middleweight divisions picking and choosing

If Ward has done the same as Garcia but hate steadily gets thrown at swift in his young age, why no hate for Ward, be consistent people. Ward is a protege of Roy so expect him to keep picking choosing and milking matches

You know Ward earned $1.3 million v Dawson. The guy's a multi-millionaire, he has a job with HBO and can retire off boxing right now.

No, he isn't earning Mayweather money, but the top earners provide entertainment as well as putting on a fight.

The division wasn't weak, it was fairly deep actually. Most have Froch and Kessler in the top 10-15 fighters in the world. The next layer included fighters like Andre Dirrell, Sakio Bika, Arthur Abraham, Jean Pascal, Lucian Bute and a third layer with Glen Johnson, Allen Green, Robert Stieglitz and Jermain Taylor.

Ward either beat those fighters or beat the guys that beat those fighters.

$1.3 is gross of payments to his manager, training team, co-promoter sanctioning fees, etc.

He can make a decent living off commentary but if he has to train 8 weeks and take punches to the face against the best fighters in the world he should be paid more for it.

Andre Berto made more money vs. Robert Guerrero than Ward did in any of his fights. Ward fought a tough schedule and if its his goal to headline a PPV than he's earned that right to pursue it in my book.
