Was Cotto a Good Win for Trout?

Just asking cause according to many here at Boxingscene the Cotto that Floyd fought months earlier was shot and not considered a "good" win but the Cotto Trout fought later that same year is considered a "great" win?? So how does Cotto go from shot to not shot to not a "good" win to a "great" win? Anybody care to explain boxingscene logic to a new member of the forum?

Good win for Trout, "cherry pick" bad win for Money

Marquez: Cherry pick bad win for Money good win for Pac
Mosley: Cherry pick bad win for Money good win for Pac

Yes because trout was relatively untested,,, Cotto was his coming out party,,,,

If trout was a p4p #1 guy then no it would be a great win, just a win....

you have to use perspective and context when comparing these types of things,,,

Now if trout had wins over canelo, angulo, and lara, then fought cotto, it would be treated the same as floyd's win over cotto,,, just a win, nothing special....

cotto is now falling into the category of zab judah,,, good name to get on your resume if your a young fighter thats rising up,, but just like zab wouldnt be consider a great win for guys like floyd, or manny or jmm at this juncture in their career

The context is that "Cotto is a shot fighter" but you only hear this in reference to his fight with Floyd. No one called him shot when he fights a few months later against Trout. That's some context that dont make sense to me...

i called him shot and knew he wouldnt beat trout,,,,,

like i said,,, it was trout's first big fight,,, much like when canelo fought mosely,,, or when danny fought morales,,, or when jermain taylor fought joppy.....

present day cotto isnt a great win for a guy of floyd's caliber or anyone on the p4p list....

but he was stil the best win for trout because trout hadnt had any big fights yet....
Like i said before,, cotto is kinda a stepping stone for younger guys now if he continues to fight,,, i said after the margs fight that cotto was ruined and when never beat high caliber fighers again,,, and after manny crushed him there is no way cotto ever gets another top level win like earlier in his career,,,,
he is just a stepping stone

Good win? maybe. Great win? no.

I felt Cotto was beaten by Trout's size and his own lack of punching power in that bout. It wasn't like Trout out-boxed him on a skills level.

Trout's size beat Cotto, Floyd's skill beat him. Great win for both, he was past prime in both, but still had plenty left. at him being shot.
