He hit a wall in his career & a change in trainers may help some but in my opinion the person to blame is frank maloney for putting his 15 fight crown ***el in with a legit contender. There is something to work with still. He's got an eraser right hand so he will always have a puncher's chance in any fight he's involved in. Pulev landed some huge rights late in the Thompson fight & couldn't put him down. Price floored tony with his straight right early in their fight & almost put him away. I won't right off price yet. I did that to wlad after the first brewster fight & he hasn't lost since...

yea,,he even said he wasnt blaming his trainer. he just wanted a change. wlad improved himself after getting with steward. just maybe price can do the same with a new trainer. get someone to help him use his height better and protect that chin

Who is he going to get as his new trainer? McCracken? Booth?

Maybe Nacho...would love to see him work with a heavyweight.

Reckon he should go back to Booth.

          But he probably wont.

He needs to question his heart, and once he can prove that, he must then accept his chin isn't exactly HW material, build a defence, and then work on his legs and build some more muscle there!

Maybe you should come back with that comment once you've taken a punch from a 260 pound top 10 heavy.

Clearly, his defence is the problem.

Wouldn't say his chin is THAT bad, to be honest. He took a lot of full-blooded shots in the rematch without going down. It was more a stamina issue he had in that fight. First fight, got caught with a well-timed, hard punch in the perfect place that scrambled his senses: could happen to anyone (as we've seen recently with Mares, Peterson, Pacquiao and other great fighters: not saying Price is great, just pointing out that people can be hurt without being chinny).

Not sure who he should appoint. Booth has his hands full with Haye and Groves, as well as Andy Lee and I think a few others. Maybe Lennox could be good, he only got to work with Price for a few weeks.

yea,,I really wish hed stick with lewis if lewis is willing. hell wlad lost in his first fight with steward but then improved. one fight isnt enough to improve a guy and he really shouldnt have taken that rematch with TT. big mistake. he should have taken a couple easier fights to get his confidence back and then rematch

Stamina yes, and the fact that he lost belief. He didn't think he had it in him to beat this guy. He gave thompson his best shot, and it looked to be over, but he couldn't believe the heart of this 41 year old man who crawled off the canvas from taking a shot like that.

He needs a total change of environment if he wants to get back into the mix. Get away from Liverpool, maybe even go to the states and join up with one of the promoters out there. Everyone wants a hardhitting heavy. I think he needs to learn a little more finess and get a few more tools in his box and he'll be fine.

Maybe Lennox is that guy. Who knows.

Yup, there was a mental fragility in that rematch, he looked overwhelmed by the occasion. Probably could do with some of the spotlight taken off him, a couple of fairly low-key fights against solid but unspectacular/non-hitting opponents, maybe Stateside, maybe in Europe. Rebuilding phase. He only did three weeks' worth with Lennox, it might be worth doing a full camp with him and even basing himself out in Canada permanently.
