I assume we are talking prime vs prime?

I'd go with Ali either way. Even though Wlad is very quick for his size, Ali is on another level. He would dance around him for 12/15 rounds sticking out the jab at will and Wlad would be punching air all night.

Ali easily. He might even stop Wlad if he keeps the pace of the fight high enough.

I'm not hating on Wlad, Ali is just that bad a matchup for him.

Haye is similar in size to Ali correct?
Imo its more wlads size and style mix that make him somewhat difficult.
He has good skill in his 1-2,
But has no inside game and no true defense but sticking his arm out.

It's not about size, it's about movement and style. Ali wasn't nearly as timid as Haye and moved around the ring way better. He was also much busier with his flicking jab and his reactions were equal if not better as well.

And Wlad landed about 140 punches on Haye. Think about how many punches he would land on Ali.

Wladimir, first round, first punch KO.

And almost all of those were jabs, through individually, not in combinations.

Did anyone ever land single jabs against prime Ali? Or even 70s Ali? Liston had a far more effective jab than Wladimir and he was pawing at air with it all night.

Prime Ali takes an easy wide UD. Just too much speed, skills and everything...

I don't believe Wlad would be stopped though.
