He didn't stop the fight. He was stepping in to break them up because the bell was about to go. Kovalev had already hit Cleverly twice when he was down so he probably would've kept punching after the bell.

Dirk, you are being genuinely disingenuous now. I'm not someone you need to be like that to.

I suggest we leave it there - I wont reply to the same BS twice.

No I'm not. How did he stop the fight? The referee stops the fight when he waves it off. O'Connor was jumping in to separate the fighters because it was the end of the round. Cleverly had already been hit whilst he was down twice and the ref was too slow to jump in then.

I haven't watched it again, but he jumped in with his arms up like he was waving it off, before the bell rang. I fully admit I may be remembering it incorrectly.

He is right....he knows Frank's paid off judges and ref were doing everything they can to help him along.

Frank assured him a points win so long as he see's the final bell.

O'Connor is an moronic bum of a ref, he's always flailing his arms about like a ****. Stopping it was probably in his mind but the round was about to end and I believe he was just trying to get between the fighters to break them at the bell because he'd already been too slow to get between them when Cleverly had been hit on the canvas.

I don't think people would've been too happy if he'd stopped it at that point - basically on the bell. He'd have probably never worked again.....which would be a good thing
