Who does Broner have to fight to legitimize himself?

I think the Maidana fight will say something about Broner. Maidana is more of a stationary opponent but his power is undeniable. Broner is for sure quicker but what happens when Maidana's punches start to hurt with every impact? Sure you can stand there and block most of the punches but Broner is pretty much a stationary target, he will be getting hit with massive punches in every round.

Eventually, that guard will drop and the punches will start to connect. A lot of people are writing Maidana off but I think he stands a good chance at showing Broner what it's like to face a real puncher, someone who can KO him with one or two punches.

Maidana is a step in the right direction, but even that fight doesn't legitimize Broner, imo, due to how badly Alexander beat Maidana. Maidana isn't fast enough or slick enough to handle boxers with a little speed.

When Broner beats guys like Alexander, Khan, Matthysse, Garcia, Bradley, Pac, JMM, and Floyd, then he's legit and not until then.

I thought Broner was the next Floyd until I watched the Paulie fight. Broner took a major step backwards in that fight, in my mind.

He's yet to answer those questions.

Maidana would be his best win to date. By a wide margin.
I agree, if he beats Maidana in impressive fashion, he should be considered a player at 147....Thurman next.

I'd love to see Broner-Khan.......I think Khan has a style that takes Broner out of his comfort zone. He'd have to change something drastically regarding his style to beat Khan imo.

To many posters judge Broner's in ring career by his out of ring antics. He may have been unimpressive against Paulie but he still won clearly. He may not be as good as floyd was at that age but he is superior to many others.

He is by no means a finished product at 23 yet posters act like this is his prime.
He has speed, skill, power and the areas he needs imprvement-footwork, defense-are all things that can be taught.

If Demarco, Burns, RIos or any other LW moved up to ww and beat Paulie there would not be this much bcklash and contempt.

                What are you hinting at?

Also, either Broner is 23 and unpolished...or he's 23 and accomplished a lot. Its one or the other...not which is convenient for discussion.

What did Sr say that was so bad? Broner has been fighting a bunch of stiffs. So what isn't that what most of you people on this site have been saying for the past two plus years? He also did say out of all the other fighters Broner did have Mayweathers style down the best. What is it with this site? If you aren't totally sucking off some fighter that automatically makes you a hater.

Go with the eye test. You ever seen him fight? He blows.
Not saying Maidana is a world beater or anything..He is however a step up for Broner..I'd give him major credit for a win(esp a dominate one)..DeMarco is not in the same class as Maidana, which speaks in volume about what I think of DeMarco tbh..
