Who does Broner have to fight to legitimize himself?

Mayweather Sr just came out and said Adrien's only been fighting stiffs. Several people, myself included, believe Broner has been carefully guided to 3 world titles in 3 weight classes by taking the path of least resistance. Picking on the undersized, overachieving WW Malignaggi for his WW splash didn't prove he is among the best. It only raised several more doubts by how much he struggled. Golden Boy is looking to chalk up another small WW who is a bit limited & overrated, but atleast packs a real punch. Some will say this fight will legitimize Broner. Still even a victory here will be against a guy who was floored several times by Ortiz, badly hurt by Josesito Lopez, & almost stopped in the first round by Amir Khan. Broner will need a better conquest to really earn his stripes. Who does Broner have to fight to earn respect? I for one say Lucas Matthysse, Kieth Thurman, & even Robert Guerrero after the little confrontation they had.

it is hard to imagine Sr singing the praises of any fighter he doesn't currently train. the only way Broner can get Sr's respect is to knock off Jr

If Broner signed Sr as his trainer then he would be hard core.Otherwise he only has to beat Hagler,Herans,Loenard,Pryor,Marciano,Foreman, and RJJ in thier primes and Crackhead will consider him almost legit.

He needs to fight a top fighter, like a Maidana for example, and win impressively.

Because so far all he's fought is decent fighters and he's not winning impressively all of the time.

he already did that when he beat demarco, the best 135lb fighter in the world at the time. other than that his opposition hasnt always been great, but hes fought some good fighters he doesnt get enough credit for beating. litzau is one, not a great fighter but solid to say the least. the way broner dismantled him was impressive. paulie is another, again not a world beater but a solid two weight world champion. considering that broner jumped up two weightclasses to beat him at such a young age that is an impressive win too.

he hasnt earned all the praise he as got with these wins, certainly doesnt deserve to be on the p4p list. but that doesnt mean who he has beat counts for nothing, not at all.

maidana is overrated as hell but would serve as another good not great opponent, which he deserve some credit for. id rather he go back down to 135 and clean up the division though, there are some good fights. abril and if burns ever finds the courage him too. after that 140 and later 147 when he grew into the division naturally.

Yeah, if he beats the two Argentines he's legit.

Maidana is a good win, if he can pull it off cause I can't see him doing it... Its not gonna prove everything, but it'll show something we haven't seen yet

From what I've seen, he WILL get caught, and get caught solid by Maidana, and feel his power. If he can take it, of if he can show he avoid the power for an entire 12 rounds, I'll be more than impressed... Especially if he wins
